    The content leads. However the beats have to be at least listenable. Same goes for the rhyming skill.

    That why im more on Nas. Yeah i mist admitt that his beat selection is sometimes suspect :)

    Production has been getting better and better every year, IMO.
    Its hard to point out just one now. We need to appreciate these producers more.

    I'm satisfied with sub-par lyricism over top notch production. I can't stand dope ass lyrics over ? /boring beats. KRIT balances the two the best, IMO. A ? -head ass rapper who can't stop rapping over "chill mode" beats gets no play. A 90's inspired artist rapping over played out instrumentation gets no play, either. I need replay value more then anything else.

    I value lyricism but I will be more inclined to listen to a track if the production is decent.
    Like I can listen to a banger with poor lyrics but it'll be harder to listen to a track if production is trash.

    I want bars over beats. Give me quotables. Say some ? that I will be reciting in my daily conversation, 5-10 years from now. Be a ? poet. If your truly a Rap ? , you will also be able to keep your rhymes within context of a compelling story IE content, however this is secondary.

    The awesome beat you choose will simply help maintain my attention to the ? your already saying. A strong artists should be able to ? it acapella, BEFORE the introduction of an instrumental.

    Examples of this?
    Reasonable Doubt Hov. Danny Brown. Young and hungry Cassidy. The Lox. Common. Killa Cam in S.D.E.

    The exact opposite?
    ASAP Rocky would be an example of a ? who let's his production lead his actual talent as an artist. You can have sick beats all day, but a project only maintains replayability when the bars are present. It is a lazy style. Also, post-black album Hov would be an example of this.

    i had a period where i only liked beats and choruses.

    I am a big Content Driven person it is 1st and foremost the majority of the time for me. Beats come next then lyrical complexity a close third. Not saying I want to hear a bunch of deep ABC rhymes with a hot beat but rather then a super lyrical bunch of words that are saying nothing on a wack or moderate beat...
