i go to hockey games and got a wayne simmons jersey.
white people look at us like we crazy when we go....like black people aint allowed to like something other than what they think we should like.
Man Im down here in charlotte, home of Nascar, or concord which is 20 min away, but anyway Nascar is the epitome of a "whites" only sport and that dont stop our people from showing up. And Im talking dreads and weaves and ? ...though to be honest I see more and more white boys showing up with sisters with weaves and ? on they arm...anyway so white folks looking at you crazy aint excuse. -
i played the video games and it was fun, so then i tried to get into the real thing, but i just couldnt

We r a tropical ppl it doesn't snow in subs sharan Africa

Region plays a role, too.
if you live in the northern midwest, a black person will see that ? TONS more than if you grew up in the South. The East Coast has it sprinkled in moderately with the other sports in some places (NY, Boston, Philly), but most folk in the Carolinas, Florida, Texas, Alabama ain't checkin for that ? .
End thread. East coast people prolly played in gym class as a field trip or at least floor hockey.
I don't really check for it but if nothing else is on tv....I'll watch porn -
Its boring b.
-
Hockey is soccer on ice. With more fights.

You let Marcus down. -
I grew up during the Gretzky era so I was somewhat in to it.

yeah but kenyans win races in cold weather. ? outchea playing football in cold weather in January and ? . Again there is no merrit to any cold weather sports stopping negros from being good at it. Black players growing up in Canada invented the slap shot and were beating white teams back in the day. Black people like shani davis in speed skating are keeping up. Davis is one of the fastest speed skaters in the world. Has nothing to do with ? being from africa being a forcefield from cold weather sports. ? if that was the case why would there be so many black people that could survive in detriot or chi towns frigid air lol.

Hockey is an expensive and non accessible sport to get into in the US. Unless you live by a frozen pond, how are you going to practice on your own. I could go to a gym right now to play basketball and I could go outside and play football/baseball/soccer.

i moved up to a new department and told this chick i was a flyers fan the first thing she said was "whos your favorte player wayne simmons?"......smh
you close to philly...i got tix i cant use -
The simple answer is: that ? is COLD. Hell, it's based on cold weather and ice skating. Black folk don't generally do cold weather or ice skating.
Now if it was roller hockey, that'd be different. We ? with a roller rink.
Me personally, that ? is boring in the regular season. Stanley Cup Finals are the ? , tho.
man i fukin love ice skating....? is fun as hell -
Jerome Iginla is a great player, it's only a matter of time before Black people are overrepresented in hockey, like they are in almost every other sport.
My uncle played for years. Still plays rec hockey in a league with my white uncles from the other side of the fam. Last wedding they couldn't stop talking about how he ? on everyone in the league and he's the only black dude on the ice when they play. -
When the Thrashers left Atlanta, I just didn't care anymore.

Nope

It really is a rough and tumble sport tho.
I agree 100% with this post above. I'm working in Alaska and they love that ? up here but it's just so damn boring to me. I tried to watch it a couple of times and just gave up on the ? .
Plus it seems like the fans care more about the fights than the actual sport, which is lame to me. I mean if you wanna see fighting then watch Boxing or UFC. That ? makes me shake my head.
That and the fact that when guys fight in basketball or football they are thugs. But in Hockey or Baseball it's okay and not that big of a deal. That ? just reeks of undercover bigotry to me. -
Boring, goaly only skill position like soccer, its not marketed enough and it has low scoring like soccer.
-
lol
"ain't no black ppl playing"
"not my cup of tea"
"too boring"
MEANWHILE IN PHILLY.........
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uadzvjFDro8
the funniest part was listening to WIP condemn this and blah blah blah the fans didn't like it, meanwhile every youtube vid filmed in the stands shows the crowd going straight savage Roman Colosseum hype lmao
it was some straight GOON ? tho like they were getting blown out and the GM chewed them out between periods so ? was like ? it, that other goalie didn't even wanna fight Emery at alllll lmao. ? like that is why you gotta give hockey props, Goodell woulda put ? in Guantanamo f'real, the NHL was like "ehhhh don't do that again". -

the nhl is not a tv sport but im telling you if you go to a pro nhl game that ? is totally different its not even something you can explain. im not saying its gunna magically turn you to a fan but it gives you a different persepctive. hockey has the best jump from how it looks on tv versus how it looks at the live game. Weather your high in the rafters or in the first row every seat gives you a good view of the ice surface.
football is better on tv unless you drop a few grand for a suite or 50 yard line tickets. basketball can be better live but only again if you drop a few gs on courtside or its 2 big named teams. The average nba game live isn't worth the price of admission and in the upper deck your better off at home. i watch way too much baseball than i should and have been to some classic yankees red sox games...but honestly still its not much better live even for the biggest rivalry. and sitting around waiting for ? to happen sucks lol.
ive seen all major pro sports live and the biggest jump in appreciation from tv to the live event has to be hockey. again it might not be your cup of tea but just give it a shot live for a pro game. minor league can vary.
As far as the undercover bigotry that is true and that is true especially the nba. white football fans will even give passes to black athletes on their team who drink and drive and ? people (lenoard little) but a few nba players have a shoving match and the nba is full of thugs. no there are visible mostly black or euro players that play a non traditional style of basketball than you grew up on and it threatens you lol. -
Living in Canada it's pretty much everywhere. I watch it marginally and don't really have anything against it but I don't ? with it as much as I do basketball, football and soccer. Maybe cause as a kid my folks knew the equipment was too expensive lol, put me onto basketball and soccer instead. I ? with the right to fade a player you got a problem with though. Been to a hockey game live and it was way more exciting than on TV, that couldve been the live experience aspect but the game was just more fun to follow.

Actually the dudes that do all the fighting in hockey are called enforcers or goons

But they're celebrated and even signed and scouted to be just that. And "enforcer" is nowhere near as negative as "thug." It's actually the most positive spin you can put on the word "thug." -
@Monizzle14
I agree watching some sports live is more fun than at home but I think that has more to do with the crowd. I've been to NBA, NFL and MLB games and I enjoyed all of them a lot. Maybe I will try an NHL game and see what it's all about
