they acting like she aint spit on him... if thats considered simple assault and this is a domestic on BOTH SIDES why are they tryna bash him?

Because the image of a football player dragging his unconscious fiance out of an elevator pretty much trumps that. Yeah she was wrong, but Ray Rice got to know he's got far more to lose by punching her ass. Me and one of my homeboys was talking about this yesterday. If your girl even gets to the point she feels she can spit on you, ya'll crossed a dangerous line a long time before that that should have never been crossed

so he HAS 2 show restraint... but she dont? she knew spitting/hitting that man was wrong she didnt care... and honestly she has 2 do that 2 him 1st if she got laid out.. even if he is wrong that means they are both EQUALLY wrong... so dont bash him if he was provoked...

Who said that? What that crazy hoe did is on her. She controls her actions just like he controls he. Just because she acted out of character doesn't mean he has to as well. Especially when he has far more to lose than she does by acting a fool. The ? deserves to be bashed because he made a ? in the moment decision. He could have walked away, dumped the ? , and used her spitting in his face which is legal assault as a case to get custody of their child by showing she's unstable in her behavior. Now he's got his face being put on tv. Notice no stories talking about this on tv mention she got locked up too because Ray Rice is the bigger name.

I'ma need to see her mugshot tho -- all jokes aside.

Dude is a professional athlete in a year-round NFL weight program. If she ain't lookin' like Martin after he fought Tommy Hearns --- they must acquit.

    Word to Johnny Cochran, rip.

I just dislike they way people are labeling him as a "batterer." There was an altercation. The other person, who happens to be a woman, escalated to a physical confrontation. He responded in kind and knocked her out. I'm not saying what he did was right. It isn't, but I think it's unfair to label him as a "batterer" or "abuser" because he responded with physical violence to physical violence.

I get that men are generally stronger than women, and as a result shouldn't be so quick to engage them in a physical fight. That said, the same logic should apply to a large man vs a small man. That said, if this was a case of a big guy knocking out a little guy who started a fight, the same people criticizing Ray would be laughing and joking.

I got zero sympathy for her getting knocked the ? out because she enabled her own ass-whupping through her bird actions. With that said, ain't no excusing Ray for punching her. He just can't do that and the general public ain't trying to hear any excuses.

Where did I say I wanted men and women to be equal? Last I checked, it was women that were always wanting to be treated as equals and then whining when they actually were. I'm just pointing out that there is a difference between a batterer and someone who lashes out violently when he's being attacked.

But let's talk about this myth of men not hitting women? What point in history did men not hit women? Hell, there are U.S. laws (some actually still in the book) detailing under what circumstances it was legal for a man to beat his wife. I can guarantee that you can pretty much go to any point in history, any where in the world, and find that if a woman lost her mind and started attacking a man, she would get hit. The difference is back in the day, most women had more sense and knew not to do that to begin with. As a result, they were seen as being commodities that needed protection. Nowadays chicks want to try and fight men like they can actually defend themselves in that arena. Again, I'm not saying it's right for a man to beat up on a woman in that case either, but ya'll can't be labeling a dude as a batterer because he responds to your violence with violence.

    Ravens' Ray Rice indicted

Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was indicted by a grand jury Thursday on third-degree aggravated assault for allegedly striking his fiancée unconscious last month.

Rice was arrested and charged with simple assault-domestic violence on Feb. 15 after a physical altercation with his fiancée, Janay Palmer, at the Revel Casino and Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. Palmer also was charged with simple assault.

Conviction of a third-degree crime in New Jersey carries a potential prison sentence of at least three years up to five years, and a fine that could be up to $15,000.

A video obtained and posted online by TMZ showed Rice lifting Palmer by her arms out of an elevator and laying her on the floor. Rice's attorney, Michael Diamondstein, has said the footage is authentic but incomplete.

"I have been advised by the prosecutor's office that an indictment has been returned," Diamondstein told ESPN on Thursday afternoon. "And again, we deny that he committed an aggravated assault. We don't think the law would support that [he did]. And we just ask the public to reserve judgment until all of the facts are out."

Rice was one of three Ravens players to be arrested in a 22-day period. Backup wide receiver Deonte Thompson was arrested for possession of marijuana on Feb. 21, and reserve offensive lineman Jah Reid was arrested on two misdemeanor charges of battery on March 9.

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti has said Rice has a future with the team despite his arrest. The Ravens released a statement Thursday that read: "This is part of the due process for Ray. We know there is more to Ray Rice than this one incident."

Rice, 27, signed a five-year, $35 million contract with the Ravens before the 2012 season. He is coming off his worst season, rushing for only 660 yards and averaging a career-low 3.1 yards per carry.

Earlier Thursday, Diamondstein told The Press of Atlantic City that neither Rice nor Palmer wants to move forward with the case.

"We vehemently deny that Mr. Rice committed an aggravated assault," he told the paper. "Both Mr. Rice and Miss Palmer are together, they are happy and they're in counseling."

I'm surprised TMZ has gotten their hands on that toasty uppercut video yet...

It's crazy that he might still winding up doing time even though his chick says she doesn't want to press charges and is still with him.
