"i'm like saddam hussein, stil alive, lookin' at his dead children's burnt remains."
Prophetic; two of Saddam's sons were killed by US forces in 2003 before he was hanged .. -
Unless that verse is copied from an older song, Nas' verse came after both sadaam and his sons were killed.
That Alicia Keys unplugged dropped in 2005 -
Yeah, Brooks Brothers overcoat, know the ropes, smooth is holdin' those
Briefcases, silk ties, slick as them older folks
Silver fo'-fo', got no,
My chauffer driver just left some of my colleagues smokin' that Cali
Caught a glimpse of myself in the Barney's shop window
Kinda' see my father's features creepin' in a little
Got an office on Broadway, business in Jamaica
Tell my daughter try the hardest so the best schools'll take her
And I'm late to a date with my wife, I realize
I stopped to shop, had to get her some type surprise
And I'm walkin' through it, chaos is all around me
But ? got me, no fear, 'til the fire pride stop me
One of my fav Nas songs -
These old heads got stories of days they were kings
I pray secret indictments dont take way they dreams (Jimmy Hench)
You 16 you can do 20 come home young (Chi Ali)
Catch 20 years when you 40 holmes ya done. (Big Meech)
But still it was beautiful, the love was mutual
Even tho me n Jung aint show up to ya funeral
I hold ya son's hand, tell em he the man
we love you, ya pops was king, you have a whole lot to live up to.
I think 'Where's the Love' will go down as one of my favorite Nas songs.
I was gonna post this its one of my favorite quotes from NAS it's like he starts to zone out at that particular moment, definitely one my favorite tracks from him he couldn't of a chose a better song to end the album with.

Saddam's sons - Uday and Qussay Hussein died in July 2003. Alicia Keys's 'Streets of New York' ft. Nas and Rakim on the "The Diary of Alicia Keys" LP(track on UK version only) was released Dec. 2003.
The Hussein brothers death occured before Nas's verse was was spit.
It's still a dope bar, though -
In order for him to be the Don, Nas had to go
The Gam-B-I-N-O rules I understood
What y'all want, see, I already had
The Gift and The Curse? ? that ? , the first shall be last
I'm a man's man, a rapper's rapper
G-O-D S-O-N, they'll be none after
I was Scarface, Jay was Manolo
It hurt me when I had to ? him and his whole squad for dolo -
? in high places they don't have the ? for this
People in power sit back and watch them slaughter us
Mr. President I assume it was negligence
The streets upside down, I'm here to represent -
NothingButTheTruth wrote: »Through the lights cameras and action, glamor glitters and gold
I unfold the scroll, plant seeds to stampede the globe
When I'm deceased, by then the beast arise like yeast
To conquer peace leaving savages to roam in the streets
Live on the run, police paying me to give in my gun
Trick my wisdom with the system that imprisoned my son

This ? touchs me
So many kids I knew, never knew what Pap was
That's why I show my pop love
He was still around when I ? up
He could have left
My moms pregnant shock to death but stayed
Watch me crawl till I took my first step, to the first grade
To my first fist fight
Right behind me he would stand
No matter how big or tall he made me fight you like a man
Throw dirt in your eye, swing my right scoop your ass and slam
He watched me so I wouldn't get jumped by shorty's fam -
We come from where murders occur often on late nights
? is high and they eyes be red as 2 brakelights
Medical marijuana, Henny bottles, and Grey Goose
Semi’s and shottys on deck, everybody’s face screwed...
...No clip in your Glock, you ain’t prepared to fire
We call that riding with no air in your tire
You’re flattened, it’s a pattern after scrapping
What usually happen, death on arrival -

Now let's get it all in perspective for all y'all enjoyment a song you can step with
Y'all appointed me to bring rap justice
But I ain't 5-O y'all know it's Nas yo -
I walk the blocks like whatever ? , my message to y'all feds
Who desperate to arrest us young, benevolent hardheads
Abercrombie & Fitch rockin', wrist glistenin' marksman
Hitchcock of Hip-Hop since Big Pop departed
The project logic is still salute the dead, Glocks spit
Pour some juice out for those in Manchester, Beaumount
Otisville, Lewisberg, Fort Dix, Fort Worth, Oakdale
Every fed jail where all my dawgs lurk... -
? don't want beef they vegetarian
Scared of ? you climbed out a caesarian
I push ya grown ass back in your mothers ?
You need nine more months
Your crews nine more punks
You rhyme on stuff and claim I didn't sign y'all up
If I sign y'all I'm on dust -
What if I told you that AZ didnt exist
And I put him there, played it like a ventriloquist
Cause ? spit fake ? and y'all respect it
I spit that real ? and y'all won't buy the record
What if me and the rapper homie was really cool
And we used that whole thing as a media tool

Y’all beneath me
Y’all be at the ? shop, pawnin’ watches
Obnoxious, can’t stop us, we shottas
Say you killin’ Pablo? Impossible
Nonsense, preposterous, bizarre at best
Unfulfilled promises
I feel intelligence is my wealth
However, how enormous is Nas’ pockets is a pop quiz to gossipers -
I'm done. This ? the GOAT.
The last of the ? genre like...
? can't be serious
Still the grittiest, point blank period
Flow tight as a midget's closet
As tight as a prison block is
No sight of po-lice, when we riot
Fighting the system fire
Get quiet, when I'm approaching
Get tires, jump out the roses
Sip Meyer's Rum out in open
I'm smoking that hydro, choking
I'm scoping, my eyes are on you
Don't reach cause I tried to warn you
No street corner Nas won't come to
To bomb you, 4 5's will harm you
Eccentric, I'm live but calm too
Cordial, but crazy cautious
Roll through with some crazy gorgeous
Hoes, bodies like lady horses
Like...a whole stampede serious
Y'all ? is funny like Eddie Murphy's "Delirious" -
She a ain't a politician, honey's a po-le-tician

Noisy I aim not silently, noose all surroundin me -
MarcusGarvey wrote: »Next thing you know he packing
So then I asked him
What's this white ? on that plate and your face?
Papa why you butt ass from the waist
And who's this lady I'm facing
Dark skin you're not my mommy
He grabbed me up to run some smooth words by me
Promised things that he would buy me
If I kept my mouth closed and don't tell mommy
He said one day I'll understand little me
What's in you, is inside me
That just shows how good Nas is... I mean that's not even my favorite bars from that song. Daymn. -
These hot-headed youngsters, always get into trouble
Reactin' before thinkin', they easily irritated
And murder's premeditated, it's a fact that we sinkin'
When we should be climbin', in a nutshell, it's just jail
Drug sales, liquor and diamonds, ? rewindin'
Instead of movin' forward, to blow up so what's the science? -
Political thugs in shark suits persuade us to pull triggers
In army boots, yelling "Join the armed forces!"
We lost the Vietnam War, intoxicated poisons
Needles in arms of veterans instead of bigger fortunes
There's still a lot of ? crawling in the corporate offices
War in the ghetto, we ? in a barrel, they torture us
They won't be serving the beast too long
The murderers wearing police uniforms, Confederate flags I burn
...
Turning nothing into something is ? work
And you get nothing without struggle and hard work -
Oh you didn't, wanna know whose life Was Written
The life I'm livin
The ice the women
The kites that sendin to lifeless biddin
The streets to prison
I touch you then buck you
Heats be spittin
La-ser, AR fifteen doors come down
Jaws is broke, your whole crew is coffin bound
Your ? , your man, lieutenant, your boss get found..
LOL..
At one point NAS was borderline terrorizing the ROC..
