Just for the record, I was living in NYC when both of these songs came out. They came out around the same time, Summer of 97. I knew people that couldn't stand Puff Daddy and swore up and down that Mos Def was better, those people copped the Soundbombing and Lyricist Lounge LPs, but then again, I doubt if those albums went gold.
