Would y'all agree? When a slaughterhouse song comes on my ipod or itunes, i usually wait for Joell's verse b/c he's more entertaining in his metaphors and his lyrics in general.
Crooked and Royce are pretty good b/c they incorporate wordplay, but Joell does it better than them and usually has more entertaining references.
Buddens is pretty good lyrically, but i find him to be the most boring of the four. I just don't find myself forwarding to hear a Budden verse, like i might for the other three.
I'd rank them, in terms of entertainment factor:
1. Joell Ortiz
2. Crooked I
3. Royce Da 5'9
4. Joe Budden

At first I wanted to disagree because I always felt he was the weak link lyrically, but since you're talking about the entertainment factor I kinda agree. Ortiz is a funny dude but lyrically I always felt he was the weak link. I'd have to say Royce is the nicest, then Crooked, then Jumpoff and then Ortiz.

Joell always been my favorite, but i feel he was falling off for a bit. he seems back to his old self. i got royce and crooked in a tie.buddens is boring sometimes, although he kills freestyles imo

He's underrated period but I think Royce is more entertaining than he or anyone else in the group

When I think if entertaining I think of an artist like Mike Jackson,Busta, or a T pain
I think Budden is the most interesting out of all of them.
As far as being able to keep a cult following
While on a technical level Joe may be the least technical in SH,he makes more emotional music
Royce makes great projects.Mixtapes and albums
Crooked is a raw spitter and maybe the best rhymer
Joell is like a real raw 90's NY spitter -

And Royce is a super funny sarcastic dude.His tweets and bars are hilarious
