Nice
Id say Cool is a small bit above food and liquor in lyrics
But production and other things >>>> cool imo -
The CoolBoth are great albums
-
The CoolI liked the cool way more.
-
Food & Liquor 1F&L IS MUCH BETTER
-
Hard choice. Both are classics
-
The CoolThe Cool had a better concept
-
The CoolI love both albums, but the theme on TC was very creative to me.
But tbh, OG F&L>>>>>.... -
Food & Liquor 1The unreleased/leaked version was a classic.
-
Foodnliqs
The cool was alittle to mainstreamy for me as far as production and the overall feel. FnL felt more like a grassroots campaign for change. -
I still play both, but I prefer FNL.
-
Food & Liquor 1Food & Liquor is better

Food & Liquor 1Lol I think im outnumbered by young nggas so i wont even speak on it after this. Youngins LOVE the Cool.
But that ? is not on the same planet as Food n Liqour. Not just the music, beats , and lyrics, but The Cool is a fukin fantasy album. Food n Liqour is straight forward, adressing real issues with real stories.
The Cool is that My Cool Young History garbage that paved the way for the 'overthink it' version of Lupe we have now.
"My Cool Young History???? smh Get them corny basement nerd raps outta here, b. -
Food & Liquor 1wasnt really a fan of the cool

Food & Liquor 1food and liquor....both are luke warm but i prefer food and liquor over the cool

Paris, Tokyo is him fulfilling his Jazz Rap potential and doing the type of the music I wish he'd make instead of this other pretentious ? over sterile synth beats that he seems to prefer.

Food & Liquor 1The great debate. Both are damn good albums but to me it's food and liquor. That album classic.

Food & Liquor 1Both albums are incredible for different reasons.
The Cool brought the creative storytelling aspect of Lupe. He is telling a story that is both partially true and partially fictional woven from the eyes of the character he plays throughout. The important thing about the The Cool that is often overlooked was that it was also a critique of the industry and the more mainstream artists of the time. "My Cool Young History" (Michael Young History) was a caricature of the rappers at that time, from his genesis as a broke aspiring rapper living off his baby mama to a well known local MC to his inevitable downfall brought on by hate and poor personal decisions. It's genius.
That said, F&L IS Lupe Fiasco. The things people hate about Lupe today all exist on that album. The sounds are also more crisp, less dark and more carefree. This album is skin to a baby picture, it encapsulates his artistry. Lyrically and conceptually it's an advanced album. I always found it interesting that people opined about the so-called "pretentiousness" of a song like ? Bad when it's basically the same theme as The Instrumental with just a more direct approach. It kind of shows how personal opinion shrouds artistic appreciation. -
The Cool@jono let me be ya agent bruh, you can write real well brother.
