An 18-year-old D.C. high school student, Rasheema Melson is making headlines nationwide with her inspiring story of maintaining a 4.0 GPA that gained her a full scholarship to Georgetown University…..all while living in a homeless shelter.

17-year-old Oakland teen Akindtunde Ahmad beat the odds and got accepted into Yale, Brown, Columbia, Northwestern, USC, UCLA, Howard, Chapman, Cal Poly and Cal State East Bay. The brainiac with a whopping 5.0 GPA announced on “Ellen” that he’s attending Yale University this fall.
Brainy Kwasi Enin scored 2,250 out of 2,400 on his SAT was accepted by Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, Yale and the University of Pennsylvania.
He also was accepted at Duke and three State University of New York campuses and chose to attend Yale.
Patrick Peoples of Wilmington, North Carolina did us proud when he got accepted into SEVEN top Ivy League schools; Princeton University, Yale University, Columbia University, Brown University, Dartmouth College, Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania.
Like Kwasi and Akintunde, he’ll be attending Yale in the fall.
Literally dubbed the “smartest 16-year-old in the world”, little Grace Bush graduated college before graduating high school. The Florida teen received her degree from Florida Atlantic University and earned a 3.8 grade-point average before receiving a diploma from Florida Atlantic University high school.
Grace has big dreams and plans to become one day become a Chief Justice.

ELMONT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Eight is a lucky number for Harold Ekeh. The Salutatorian from Elmont High School on Long Island just achieved a remarkable and rare accomplishment; acceptance to all eight prestigious Ivy League schools.
As CBS2’s Chris Wragge reported, 8-years-ago the Ekeh family arrived in America from their native Nigeria.
“Absolutely shocked. It was as though I was hit repeatedly. I was stunned,” Ekeh said.
Ekeh pointed to his family’s humble beginnings, thirst for education and desire to make a meaningful mark on society as his inspiration.
“I am just thanking ? for what he is doing for my family in the life of my son,” Harold’s mother Roseline said.
Roseline works in Queens for a human resources agency. His father Paul works with the NYPD’s traffic division.
“I am overwhelmed. To say that I am proud is not enough, it is awesome,” Paul said.
From the first day in his community, Harold began volunteering for social justice campaigns, academic mentoring, got involved with sports, was elected to Elmont’s homecoming court and honor society, but mostly spent his years working intricate complicated bio-chemistry experiments.
“Kids would say, ‘I want to be a firefighter or a police officer or a superhero.’ I would say I want to explore the human body, what makes us who we are,” he said, “I would like to be a neurosurgeon when I grow up.”
Ekeh told WCBS 880’s Sophia Hall he wants to find a cure for Alzheimer’s; his grandmother was diagnosed with the disease.
The 17-year-old is leaning towards Yale, but hasn’t visited the other Ivies, which he plans to do next week.
“I am very humbled by this. I see this as not an accomplishment for me, but as an accomplishment for my school, my community,” Harold said, “Because I really see this as my mission to inspire the next generation.”
Another Long Island student was recently accepted to all eight Ivy League schools. Kwasi Enin made national news in 2014 when he graduated from William Floyd High School. He decided to attend Yale.
It warms my heart to see when youngsters aren't out here doin' the fool and being with that that dumb ? ? . We definitely need more this in the community kids trying to get into college or opening businesses. It needs to be noted that this kid went to a public school, (which shows the public schools can and do work, and most importantly, he coming out a two parent household.

We all are, what seperates them is their desire and ambition to make it, ? here are conditioned to limit themselves based on structure of the "black man" in the US. Love it women Blacks here break the glass ceiling and become anoamlies, when in reality we all made to be 1st place starters. -
We were scholars long before colleges. Props to the young people, but let's really celebrate when they do something in the world that matters like create an avenue for generational wealth, raise a family fully of children who have their head on straight culturally, physically, spiritually, and socially.
Getting a good GPA shows discipline, but it's like step 0.5 to actually doing something in life.
