It seems on this board ? not respecting any song if it aint containing quadruple entendres. I get it if some people dont like some club songs, theres some ion like either, but u got some ? that act like club songs shouldnt be mentioned with hip hop/rap. Like its just lower on the totem pole. For example ? be like "? how dare u not like this immortal technique song, aint u a fan of Versace?" as if people are not allowed to like or not like lyrical content, because they bump a different subgenre of rap in different moods. I thought in music the whole song was more important than just 1 aspect, and i thought in "hip hop" the party was just as important than the message. This is a series of threads im tryin, to place some real appreciation on club oriented but still good ass songs period.

Lyrics and party music go hand in hand. They aren't mutually exclusive.
Criticizing a garbage rapper doesn't mean that you only like non party music.

Music is subjective lyrics are not. I don't judge a rappers skill by their music. I judge them on lyrics, flow and delivery. I can give a rapper a pass if his flow, lyrics and delivery is on point. That's a big misconception of Canibus. He has a large vocabulary and he incorporates it into his music.

and lyrics are not subjective to YOU. look in the mirror, u are the one lyrics arent subjective too what u find dope i may find wack as hell for reasons such as how its relates, is this the lyrical style i prefer, etc. and vice versa. if lyrics werent subjective, you'd be a young dro fan. -
