Sony Pictures has tapped “Oculus” director Mike Flanagan to reboot “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”
Sony-based Neil Moritz, who produced the 1997 title starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, is on board to produce the reboot through his Original Artists banner. Flanagan will co-write the script with Jeff Howard.
“I Know What You Did Last Summer” was based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan and also starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr. in a story of four friends being stalked by a killer a year after covering up a car accident. The film was directed by Jim Gillespie, from a screenplay by Kevin Williamson.
The original grossed $125 million in worldwide box office. The 1998 sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” grossed $84 million.
“Oculus,” which Flanagan co-wrote with Howard, was the most successful film that was acquired at last year’s Toronto Film Festival with $40 million in worldwide grosses for Relativity. Since then, Flanagan also directed another horror movie “Somnia,” re-teaming with “Oculus” producer Intrepid Pictures.
The news about the reboot was first reported by Deadline.com.

Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Those movies were horrible

I know what you did last decade and a half ago
starring...
actors that you won't care about in a decade and a half -
1st one was coo imo
2nd one was trash -
jack black with dreads in the 2nd one was the funniest part
-
These movies were never good and have the WOAT killer ever
The girls were hot though -
the last one went straight to dvd so I don't have high expectations for this.

"another running out of ideas, lets slap the remake name on it to generate interest, get a few actors from the original for a cameo" ?

They never should've been "booted" in the first place.

No, it didn't. It actually made $84 million at the box office against a $24 million budget. -
I remember liking both movies but then again I was around 10 or 11 too. I read the book too and remember it being different from the movie and alot more tame.
