Deadline is reporting Thursday that Marvel Wahlberg and Peter Berg, who collaborated on 2013’? Lone Survivor, are reteaming to finally bring an updated version of the Six Million Dollar Man (have Dr. Evil say that in your head) to the big-screen, retitled of course as The Six Billion Dollar Man.

Berg will reportedly direct with Wahlberg attached to star for Dimension films as former astronaut Steve Austin “who, after a horrific crash of an experimental plane (ripped right out of today’s headlines), is saved by doctors when he is fitted with bionic replacements — both legs, his right arm and left eye. With super-human power, he becomes a force to be reckoned with for the government as a secret agent for the Office of Scientific Intelligence.”

The story is based on the 1972 science fiction novel Cyborg by Martin Caidin and was of course adapted into ABC’s 1970s Lee Majors vehicle. Various attempts have been made to update the property for years, with legal entanglements apparently getting in the way.

Dimension reportedly plans to go film sometime in 2015 for a 2016 release.
