Update: The Weinstein Co. officially announced the cast of The Hateful Eight today, confirming the casting of Channing Tatum as reported below. The Hateful Eight are: Samuel L. Jackson as Major Marquis Warren, Kurt Russell as John “The Hangman” Ruth, Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue, Walton Goggins (Justified) as Chris Mannix, Demian Bichir as Bob, Tim Roth as Oswaldo Mobray, Michael Madsen as Joe Gage and Bruce Dern as General Sanford Smithers. Channing Tatum has signed on for an unspecified role.
The original report follows ...
Channing Tatum is eyeing a role in Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight, according to Deadline. The website claims Tatum is "circling a major role" in the film, which begins filming in early 2015.
Should Tatum join, he'll be working alongside the likes of Samuel L Jackson, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, and the recently announced female lead Jennifer Jason Leigh, who is set to play the part of Daisy Domergue; a wanted criminal being transported by two bounty hunters.
Aside from The Hateful Eight, Tatum is also set to star as X-Men's Gambit, in a film produced by Days of Future Past's Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner, with a script reportedly penned by Robocop's Chris Claremont.
Tarantino almost shelved The Hateful Eight after its script leaked online earlier this year, but later, at San Diego Comic-Con in July, confirmed the project will go ahead.

That ? was reading like a dream cast and then I read Tatum's name lmao
Still though Kurt Russell, Walton Gaggons and Bruce Dern in a western?
I haven't watched a Tarantino movie since Death Proof but I'm checking for this on principle alone. -
I always peep tarantino flicks. Love the westernish feel Django had so ill def check this too.
-

I've been watching his movies since the early 90's. By the time Death Proof came and disappointed the ? out of me I was over his homage paying self referential and pseudo witty dialogue heavy showcases.
This has potential though. -
? channing tatum smh
-
Deathproof is my ?

I did prefer Planet Terror but i thought Deathproof was a fun watch.
-
If u watch deathproof again, youll like it more and more imo. That chase was ? crazy.

She had gorgeous legs.
Movie still sucked.
I'll never forget my girl at the time telling me afterwards "we should've just walked out half way through it like most of the theater did". -
I'm looking forward to seeing what Walton Goggins can do. I've always rated him.

@Broddie
Not enjoying Death Proof is no excuse to skip Inglorious and Django. You should check them out. -
I completely lost interest in Inglorious Basterds when he stepped away from the original premise (when it was a an all star ? Dozens type with old school star actors). Wasn't interested in seeing what it eventually ended up as at all. Might check out Django on TV one of these days though.

It has Sam Jack. I'm in.
-
Channing Tatum is not as bad an actor as a lot of y'all seem to think.
-
Django and Inglorious Basterds are both in my top 3 Tarantino flicks. Death Proof was his weakest project imo, and even that ? was solid.
-
Nah ? Bill vol 2 was his weakest imo
-
Tatum prob wont even hav a big part. Like jonah hill in django

As long as Quentin Tarantino is alive, Michael Madsen will always have work

I feel you but Madsen gets plenty of work without Quentin. Dude works hard. -
I think Channing got potential.

I'm not thrilled about Tatum, but I hope Michael Madsen gets his fair share of screen time.
-
I should flag you for quoting a two year old article.

No one ever said he was he best actor. I'm sorry if your absurd leaps of logic took to you some strange, unwarranted place. He's not a bad actor and he's getting better. People felt the same way about Mcconaughey early in his career. Either way, the silly hatred is unwarranted at this point.
