Just because someone is open to dating or even marrying interracially doesn't mean that he/she don't see race, or that he/she is anything less than fully aware of the way that race shapes our society, and in particular how blacks are still oppressed. For example, there are black scholars whose writings forcefully explain how race still structures inequality, and yet who have white spouses. Black people who are in IR relationships are NOT all the same. This is something some people on the IC do not understand.
