FX has found American Crime's O.J. Simpson and Marcia Clark.

Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. and American Horror Story favorite Sarah Paulson have been tapped to star in the new anthology from the creators of Glee and AHS, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson — the first season of the anthology from Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk — is based on Jeffrey Toobin's best-selling book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

The 10-episode first season examines the O.J. Simpson trial as told from the perspective of the lawyers, and is poised to explore the chaotic behind-the-scenes dealings and maneuvering on both sides of the court. More significantly, it will display how a combination of prosecution confidence, defense wiliness and the LAPD’s history with the city’s African-American community gave a jury what it needed: reasonable doubt.

Gooding is set as the former NFL star-turned-murder defendant, while Paulson will play prosecutor Clark.

Written by Golden Globe winners Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (The People vs. Larry Flint), the duo, along with original producers Brad Simpson (World War Z) and Nina Jacobson (Hunger Games), moved with the former Fox project to FX, where they will pen the first two episodes. They will be joined by Murphy and his AHS co-creator Falchuk as well as Ryan Murphy Productions' Dante Di Loreto as EPs, with Murphy also set to direct. Production is expected to begin early next year in Los Angeles.

Paulson has been a mainstay on FX's American Horror Story, where she has starred in three of its first four seasons. She earned an Emmy nom for her lead role in Coven as well as for her turn in HBO's Game Change and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. American Crime also keeps Paulson into the FX fold, where she previously had a guest turn on Murphy's Nip/Tuck. She's repped by UTA and Kipperman Management.

Gooding won the Oscar for his supporting turn in Jerry Maguire and counts roles in As Good as It Gets, Men of Honor, American Gangster and Lee Daniels' The Butler. He currently stars in Selma and is in production on BET's The Book of Negroes. He's repped by ICM Partners and Bloom Hergott.

American Crime is one of three anthologies Murphy and Falchuk have in the works. It joins AHS and Fox's horror-comedy Scream Queens, which this week cast Jamie Lee Curtis and AHS player Emma Roberts in leading roles.
