Now obviously if you're working some fast food job you're probably not going 30 miles out of the way to get to work but does anybody here work at a job that they feel is worth the long commute?

Not necessarily a commute, but there was a period in my life where I had to take 3 busses to get to work. Waking up at 5:30 to make it to a job that starts at 8:00AM.
When my parents lived in MN my step dad would commute 2 hours everyday to work and back. ? that ? . -
I walk to work in 12 minutes, ride my bike, get there in 5
-
I do and its really not worth it.....at all...esp now with car problems..im trying hard as hell to find another decent paying job in the city.
-
I don't but I heard working in dc and living in central va ,is where it's at ....only a 2 hour commute for usually a 5k +increase in salary depending on your field it usually is more

takes me about an hour on public trans - my new job is in Des Plaines by O'Hare and I gotta take the blue line up from Avondale and then the Pace bus. ? up thing is if I drive it takes me longer because of traffic
-
I go to school about an hour away and my job is like 15 mins from school. it's worth it cuz I'm already in the area for school so i might as well get paid there too. It sucks on days when i don't have school or when I'm on break tho.

Nah..traffic takes it from 15 minutes to about 30 minutes.

Man, I hate going up there. When somebody come to town and they say they flying into O'Hare , Midway is all cool -
Contemplating a 40-50 minute commute for $40/hr. I could always move if I end up liking the job.

You okay with driving your luxurious automotives down astroid hole ridden garfield?
It dont make sense that one of the main roads to an airport is among the worst roads in the city
I sing the cha cha slide remix everytime im on garfield "? hole ? hole! Turn to the left!"

it's worth it for the salary and all, and at least I already live on the NW side.. but for real you'd think the traffic would be better given its a reverse commute. Nope. -
DC to Reston; takes me up to 75 minutes by bus/train; if I drive maybe an hour

Commute is nice n easy cuz im out on the expressway at 4:30 am. about 20 min ride from the north west/west side Chi to Des Plaines suburbs.
My last job was literally 2 miles away from home but since i started at 8 am it could take up to 30 min to get there on bad days -

only thing i dont like about my commute is if i have car trouble i know its gonna be a ? taking public trans to des plaines. i never rode Pace before and i dont think they run early enough. but if you're on that expressway at 6:30 or later there isnt a short cut that can save u. -

lol, work from home a couple of times a month but prefer going in. Used to full time telecommute a few years ago. I can get too distracted at home.
My place of work pretty much banned working from home this year and I agree with it. ? have offices and desks..be there.

Take me 45 minutes an hour in traffic
