At today's "Street Fighter IV and Beyond" panel, Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that he and his team "haven't forgotten about Street Fighter III." As proof, Ono offered an announcement, Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition.

"We're just starting to work on it," Ono said of the new version of Street Fighter III, so "It won't be out in the immediate future."

Street Fighter X Tekken announced! screenshots available!

    http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/jul/24/ono-announcements-comic-con-2010/

Street Fighter vs. Tekken will be available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The two teams behind the project started talking about making a game like this a year ago.

Also, Namco will be developing Tekken vs. Street Fighter, a different game with Namco developers heading the project.

Ono also said that an online version of Street Fighter 3 Third Strike will be released. It's not coming in the immediate future, they said they're going to take their time and do it right — but it will happen.

A few other things were also revealed today and more stuff is coming.

    • Ono said the blank character slots for SSF4 arcade won't be revealed until the Tokyo Game Show in September.

    • New alternative costumes in the works for Super Street Fighter 4. Available in the fall, based on past designs. Everyone gets a new costume.

    • Capcom will have official tournaments called Capcom Cup competitions utilizing Tournament Mode. This was talked about back when they did tournament mode, but it's nice to see it come to fruition. Started in Japan yesterday, but will happen in all regions soon.

    More details coming very soon...

Ono had a playable demo on a blu-ray disc already, lead development is prolly on PS3, from the screenshots the Capcom version looks like the SF characters will have the same models from SF4, Jin looks like Tekken 6 Jin on SF4's 2D plane

Cant wait to see Fei Long vs Marshall Law lol

Namco X Capcom both versions not coming out for at least 2 years

    http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/jul/26/street-fighter-x-tekken-not-due-another-two-years/

A few more details about Street Fighter X Tekken were revealed this morning. Here's a recap of new information that came about.

    • The target release date is two years from now. Ono expects the time frame for another major announcement to be next year's Captivate, which is held in April.

    • The reason for such an early announcement at Comic-Con was because Capcom wanted to do something for the fans.

    • Development on the two sides is being handled completely separate. They will not be sharing information between the teams. Capcom will be doing their own designs for the Namco characters, and Namco will handle designs for the Capcom fighters. They're also working separately on the gameplay for both titles.

    • Yoshinori Ono said they're thinking about making the game 2 vs. 2.

    • It will be a 6 button input system, like the Street Fighter games, however Ono mentioned that he'd like to add something that he referred to as an "assist" feature. He said the iPhone version of Street Fighter 4 has something of an answer here — a feature that lets players feel that they were able to do tough moves.

    • Development on the game began just one or two months ago, but Ono thinks that Capcom's version will probably come out first.

    • They're considering putting in the early generation characters from each franchise.

    • Both sides are looking at these games as a competition and not a collaboration, as they want to challenge each other in all areas, from sales to game play.
