Civilian job:Operations planning and control coordinator for UPS-Sit in front of a computer and cameras and try to help the front line mgmt run a automated department.

Pros: In an office with no employees under my direct supervision, get a lot more hours, aren't really held responsible when something bad happens...
Cons: Thankless job. Essentially doing a area managers job for a part time supervisors pay. Cant depend on other people at all so I have to approach every possible obstacle as proactively and cautiously as possible.

Am I good at it? About 7 months on the job and I just got good at it, but Im still learning every day. So im about a 7/10 right now.

Am I advancing? No and don't plan on at the moment. Plan on leaving the company actually.

Occupation: Systems Administrator for web hosting company. Left once and made the mistake of coming back.

Pros: General manager buys lunch for everybody once a week. Schedule is real flexible so I can come in late, leave early or just take a day off if I need to and it won't be a big deal. Large Company that looks good on my resume. I get to work with cisco firewalls and a lot of other stuff that looks nice on my resume.

Cons: Not a lot to do around here. Some people like that kind of environment but I need to keep my mind occupied and I also need to actually be doing something relevant so that I can keep my resume looking nice. I'm doing more support than project work which means handling tickets and taking phone calls. I hate phone calls.

Am I good at it? I'm good at everything I do. 3.5 years of experience and I'm a higher paygrade than guys that have been here a lot longer and I'm usually a lot smarter than most people I work with. There's always that one person that I feel could probably go toe to toe with me though.

Am I advancing? I was until I wasn't.. Had a 70k job offer and turned it down because I didn't like the manager. Next time I'm just gonna suck it up and deal with it but I've got two other jobs lined up at the same salary. Just a matter of time now.

Operations Specialist at some bank. Pretty good at it when I care to be. Options for advancement are limited here...so looking elsewhere.

It generally takes a year to master any job, I've found.

    CDL driver for a foodbank

Pros: Not even 50k miles on my truck, thing is mint, guaranteed 40 hours with incentives, my boss is the goat, perfect blend of being cool with you and getting on you making sure the job gets done and you're doing it right, benefits are good, I like working on the road

Cons: No overtime, pay is pretty good for what I do but I always want more, having to wake up at 3:50 every morning, I don't really get along with people I work with besides my boss, other drivers and the COO of the company but they are always making me be around these people, I'm getting that feeling like my time is almost up there for no reason at all I'm easily the best at it, my boss hypes me up as the best at it, but overall just not happy there, looking to end up in Houston a year from now just need to hold on till then

    Electrician.

Pros: job security and the average wage is supposed to jump up nearly $10/hr over the next 15 years.

    Overtime out the ass.

Cons: racist ass honkeys, and mexicans who want to treat this like it's Mexico.

Am I good at it? Too ? good at it sometimes. They always call me to fix other peoples ? ups which is damn near a con in and of itself.

I havent fully transitioned into it yet, but im a Program Coordinator for a clinic in Primary Care. I got promoted to it almost a month ago but ive been training my replacement and my transition date keeps getting pushed back. Tbh i dont fully know what I do lol. I used to be a scheduler for a provider here. Brief description of my new job is:

Making sure the providers credentials are all up to date
    Ordering office supplies and computers
assisting the manager on projects to bring grants into the hospital
    Scheduling providers for trainings
Keeping track of Nurses credentials and scheduling them in trainings

bunch of other ? . Anytime we have a potluck and stuff or an office party they always send me to costco with a company card to buy a bunch of party ? . Aint a bad gig lol. And i dont have to talk to patients anymore >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Im sure theres a lot more ill have to do, but all my focus is on training my replacement until the first week of may.

Pros: Every holiday off, and paid. Salary pay, but never have to work overtime or weekends. Management position so I get to boss people around, 10 Hours of Personal Leave every pay check, currently have 130 saved up. Other stuff.

Cons: I have to show up 5 days out of the week. Also, i have to go sit in meetings all of the damn time. I hate meetings.

    hourly at UPS

Pros: good pay, yearly raises, full benefits, same schedule everyday so it can work around school...get to talk ? and do whatever i want basically..you gotta try to get fired cuz you can get away hella ?

Cons: hard labor, no air conditioning so it's hot af during summer, everything based off seniority, don't get home til midnight, sometimes get asked to do too much

I'm good when i care/try. Otherwise i do just enough. ? breaking my back in there. Only real advancement is if you wana go supe. Don't care to so no advancing. you can get little raises by doing different jobs around there but you get a raise every year anyway

Treasury Analyst in large multinational, multi-billion dollar company. Handle all foreign exchange transactions for the entire company and coordinate with boss to minimize our financial risk from exchange rate fluctuations. Good at it, but i like managing people.

Got my MBA and CPA along with 5 years management experience over large teams (70+) so I'll be moving up pretty quickly, whether here or elsewhere. Should be making $130-$150k by time I'm 40, hopefully more.

    Sleezy insurance agent

Pros: it's a great company, money's great especially since I'm officially licensed, coworkers are great no drama!

Cons: probably no chance for promotion it's a broker and the only positions above are the bosses!

I have options though, I'm still deciding if I should go to law school in the fall, I've been accepted to two schools so far for the fall and wait listed at one. The only problem is I was rejected by my top choice! :(

So part of me wants to stay where at another year, save money, pay off undergrad, and retake the LSAT and hopefully get into my top choice or better!

    Story?

Started 2 months ago, trained for a week to be a cylinder filler for a gas company....literally was getting paid to come to work and sleep and go to McDonald's whenever I got hungry.......company been losing a lot of customers because of the oil issues and ? ....I would literally come in at 630am off at 230pm...got most of my sleep at work.....they hired all kinds of salesman to bring in money but ain't ? shaking....so they called me in and said "yeah we brought you in for a specific job, we losing customers/money and this location isn't looking good going forward. We're filling more cylinders than we're selling. So since we hired you recently the last man in is usually gone first.....said "cool" and then they said we'll still pay you the rest of the week........so "now I got the time Cuz" so I just started a new season in 2k15.....smh
