Slavery? Slaves went on tour ? ? Slaves got paid? Slaves did interviews to promote their upcoming projects? Slaves go to shape their beard? Slaves go to get fat on their own choice of food?

Black people get on my nerves with that slavery comparison. They of all people should know better.

    Lol@? thinking they free

Dont pay property tax= lose your house

Dont pay auto insurance= cant drive your car

Cant use certain plants,be certain places at certain times,

    Etc etc

Dont recoup on the advance these record companies give u= the artists have to get in there to make another album to try to recoup losses

The white man got u ? thinking you have choices in his matrix

He chooses what to put in his stores, record labels, laws, court systems, cities etc...Slavery wasnt just about whips and chains,it was deeply psychological...

its more metaphor than fact ... but for artist who end up doing all those things and dont get paid or END up in the red and still have obligations as written in the contract ... the work starts to become slavery ... however in this situation you sort of signed up for it .....................instead of being forced to be a slave

Does 'its a figure of speech ' really need to be said...? Granted he definitely could've articulated himself better but do you really think he was comparing a record contract with slavery?

The sad thing is that De La has been around for 25 years and they're just figuring this out.

    real talk
wish fans would come down to reality and stop acting like everyone gotta have 100 million to rap

Need to distinguish from Hip Hop business men and Hip Hop artists

not everyone that is nationwide and famous has 100 million in their account

It should be about the music and people should stop being illogical.

it didn't use to be just about the money if money equals talent Baby is one of your favorite artist.
    Baby can't rap, P Diddy can't rap, J-z can't really rap.

People use to support underground more, now people act too good for underground knowing that's where most artists start.
