Nelly is returning to country music.
From his very first single, Nelly established his "Country Grammar," but it wasn't until a few albums later that he really started to experiment with country music. "Over and Over" -- Nelly's collaboration with Tim McGraw -- may have been a divisive record, but it certainly didn't hurt its chart presence, making it what might've been the first country/rap crossover hit that wasn't recorded by Kid Rock.
After experimenting with pop and EDM on M.O., Nelly has decided to revisit country on his upcoming project, and at a time where country artists are embracing hip hop more than ever (Florida Georgia Line, Sam Hunt, Miley Cyrus), it seems like perfect timing.
“He’s a free agent on the label side now, and is working on a country-based Heartland EP, which should be really interesting,” Nelly's manager told Billboard. “He may be one of the first hip-hop artists to jump into that space in an authentic way with Florida Georgia Line and Tim McGraw, so we think he has an opportunity to grow that base even more.”
As Nelly has parted with Universal, it seems the EP will be an independent release. Look out for it soon.

...Damn it Cornell, you ol' country ass ? ! -
He might get large like dude from hootie & the blow fish .......
-
Or maybe he has found success in it previously so why not go get that bread.
-
If it sounds like Over N Over or Just a Dream, then I'd be interested. I liked those songs.
-
Nelly ain't broke
-
as I said in the other thread ? and Country go Hand in Hand as do Country and ? lets hope Nelly does not have any daughters as he makes this lifestyle conversion...
-

-
I don't see how you can call somebody with a job broke
you can work and still be broke cause you owe more than your making ....................... -
I swear he been talking about doing this since he dropped that track with Tim McGraw like 10 yrs ago...
-
I guess after his current ? arrest, he now has enough street cred to tackle the field
-

Shut up
Damn a lot of Country fans in here never would have guessed but the point being made is what is someone willing to do for the dollar, in a music industry where top executives delight in turning out the youth at drug fueled parties when is there too big a line too cross in making that dollar? Most of you will cosign him getting that money and give not a ? what he is getting it for. What good is the money earned at the cost of your Soul and Purpose. Forgive the crudeness of my initial remark my experience with the country fanbase in recent years has been comprised of its die hards carrying 3 or more of these traits of drunken Woman beating, manic depressive, incestuous, racist, ? head, Pill/heroin addicted, Half Witted pack minded omegas so the cross over push I personally see as more Poison to hiphop... -
A lot of today's Molly is cut hard with traditional Crystal ? . Most people can't really tell the difference unless they ingest it
I'd be willing to bet that Nelly was trying to move ? Molly rather than actual Crystal ? when he got caught up -

Molly=MDMA cut with other drugs
MDMA=3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine
? is already a key component... -

Ehh I'm not following I don't think a country singer has ever been caught with ? . Alcoholism, weed, coke, and womanizing is way more affiliated with country music than ? . At least in the older days, ain't no telling with these new pop country groups like Florida Georgia Line popping up. -
Idk he even got a season 2 on bet lol
