Hasbro are rolling out plans for new Transformers films, and this past weekend we learned just how big a rollout they have planned. At the annual MIPJunior event, Hasbro's Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President Stephen Davis spoke about the ambitious plans they have with Paramount for the Transformers movie franchise, promising four sequels over the next ten years.

"You're going to see a new Transformers movie coming from Hasbro and Paramount and Michael Bay and our other partners. In fact, we just finished -- as some of you may have read -- an incredible experience," Davis said, referring to the writer's room. "We decided we wanted to plot out the next 10 years of the Transformers franchise, so we got together in a three month period of time...nine of some of the most creative writers I have ever worked with -- shepherded by Akiva Goldsman, who many of you may know won an Academy Award for A Beautiful Mind, and written a bunch of great movies. And they plotted out the next ten years of Transformers. Similarly we are doing the same in television and digital. So stay tuned Transformers 5 is on its way. ...And 6 and 7 and 8."

Four movies over the course of 10 years sounds rather big, but for Hasbro and Parmount it actually wouldn't be -- they've done four films in the past 8 years, with a fifth -- Transformers 5 -- announced for the 10 year anniversary.

No subtitle has been given to Transformers 5 as of yet, but director Michael bay and actor Mark Wahlberg are scheduled to return in this 2017 film with a script written by Goldsman.

More unwarranted explosions and more ? human moments and more not needed explosions and a little bit of Transformer actions and did I forget to say more useless explosions.
