Beyoncé has her sights set on winning an Oscar, as she plans on writing and starring in her own movie about Saartjie Baartman, a South African woman who was displayed in London freak shows during the 1800s and nicknamed "Hottentot Venus" because of her large bottom.

According to The Sun, Beyoncé has recruited a staff of acting coaches and writers to help bring Baartman’s story to life. During her time as a performer, Baartman was involved in a court case where she felt forced to exhibit her body against her will. However, she ended up losing. It's these moments of her life and more that Beyoncé plans to bring out on the big screen.

Sources say Beyoncé wants to be taking seriously as an actress. She believes that writing a screenplay and taking on the leading role will allow her to gain the respect of the film industry. Sources also note she’s been doing a lot of research through books on Baartman, and wants to make sure she tells her story the right way.

Beyoncé hasn’t announced when we’ll be seeing the project. But as an already accomplished artist in music, we know she’ll be striving for
perfection to hopefully win an Academy Award someday.

    Beyonce can write?

Anyway, Venus' story deserves to be told. I don't have high hopes for it being penned by Beyonce though.

She is rich and powerful enough to either bankroll such a project herself or get a few studios/production companies/Oil rich arab firms on board.

Its a depressing story. Who wants to see two hours of a black woman getting degraded.

I said it is a story that deserves to be told. I didn't say it would be the feel good movie of the year.

The hottenot was a woman of extreme physical "attributes". Beyonce is built like a stereotypical white girl, that ? won't fly for me. A pornstar like Mz ? or The Butt and the like are more accurate examples of what Saara represented. One of them thick girls like you see in the ? thread in illpix.

Africans come in many shades, so I wouldn't trip bout her character being dark skinned, but Europeans were going after entire African tribes finding women like this. Saara wasn't the only woman, men were captured too, but she is the most famous. And she wasnt a rebel or anything, so itll be some cooning going on.

It's really just gonna be a story about black women appeasing and being oppressed by white men. With africans shown as circus freaks, in zoo cages, and sex slaves. Historical porn for racist and more degrading imagery. The story ain't just sad its gonna hurt to watch. Of course it got green lit.
