French Montana Believes Kendrick Lamar Is Killing Street Rap

Kendrick Lamar is definitely a critics’ darling.
But is all that love for K.Dot’s jazzy sound and his political, introspective lyrics devaluing street rap?
French had already posed the question “Why isn’t street rap selling like Kendrick?” on the intro to his new tape Wave Gods.
He elaborated during a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, when Charlamagne asked him what he meant by the line.
“Because they position [Kendrick], like how they did at the Grammys, as the new music,” he said. “I don’t feel like that’s… It’s not that it’s not the right thing to do, but I just feel like they… You see like the whole thing was like Kendrick night. That album don’t sound like nothing that’s out — the whole Hip Hop game don’t sound like that .. they put him on that platform so they can shift music toward that direction.”
What do you think of French’s words? Is the music industry conspiring to get rid of the French Montana’s of the world by promoting Kendrick Lamar?

That album don’t sound like nothing that’s out — the whole Hip Hop game don’t sound like that .. they put him on that platform so they can shift music toward that direction.
Hence why Kendrick got all his adulations that night... nobody is impressed by a ? who sounds like 59,000 other ? .
Plus Montana needs to ? , dude is a poor excuse for a rapper. Dude is not even talented on his craft.

i think TPAB is overrated but lol at French Hannah Montana talm about kdots music is killing his trash. I actually listening to that last french mixtape and it reminded me why i don't check from him. Harry Fraud need to give them beats to ? who can actually spit.

Street rap don't sell because there is an abundance of free ignorant ? to go around. Why would I pay for some ? I know a hundred other ? gon sound like? People like variety and choice.

About 3 years ago French Montana said that lyrical rappers weren't selling records at all. I wish he would make up his mind and make a classic album.

The ratchet era is not coming to an end it is just that ratchet rappers have short lives and sell terribly. French had ? bars and sold terribly now his time is up. Now you have young thug who is better than french but even he can't go gold with an album and lives of singles and weird fuckery he does to stay in the headlines.
What is changing is with the ratchet ? (which will always be around in mainstream) you have rappers like kendrick and cole who are conscious and have more loyal fanbases that are keeping their ? on radio and keeping them as popular as the latest one hit trap wonder of the week. -
