Unpopular opinion: they both aren't winning a ring by the end of their career.
Melo has more solo success while Slim has more team success. -

Who's better individually? -

Melo is almost perfect offensively: footwork, post-moves, finisher, mid-range.
However KD can score. Melo plays better defense.
I honestly can't say who is better. Melo has more advantages but KD can score like nobody's business. -
Kevin DurantWhen the last time someone had Melo in their top 5?

Actually he doesn't. Durant has 4 scoring titles. Id be suprised if Melo has more than 1.
? he may not have 1 at all
Durant has gotten to a finals, melo hasnt.
Duramt has more 1st team nba acknowledgements
Durant > Melo in any tangible way you wanna slice it. Silly thread -

Kevin DurantIf durant was on the knicks they'd be in the playoffs

Nah. Thats like saying OKC wouldnt be in the playoffs if Carmelo was there. Durant on OKC and Carmelo on the Nuggets I'm sure have comparable regular season records and I'm sure the playoff success is pretty similar minus the year OKC had Harden. It's alot closer than people want to admit. -

Lets do it the easy way and remove subjective aanalysis (ie Melo just as hard to guard') . Lets let numbers speak loudest. Its an open and shut case . No need to try ans see something' on the low' that isnt there. -
I remember after the 2008 Olympics, I came away thinking that Melo was the undisputable most dominant unstopable offensive player in the world.
-
Kevin DurantThat's a great data source to derive an assessment from.
A player from the US playing in the Olympics...
Amongst a collection of literally, the very best of the very best basketball players ... on the entire Earth.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that the comparatively non existent defensive of opposing teams (when he was actually being guarded), and an essentially never ending string of open shots provided by a crew of unselfish All Stars and Hall of Famers - may have inflated his statistics and elevated his play.
It was basically like him being in the gym chucking up shots by himself.
Compare him to Durant against actual NBA competition.
Do that and there really is no discussion. -

Kevin DurantCarmelo is the new tmac and that's not a compliment.

Kevin DurantKD for the simple fact that he actually gets back on defense.

Nash was a transcendent Point Gaurd; a Hall of Famer.
He is one of the handful of players in the 50/40/90 club.
Dude should have shot more - his PPG would have been through the roof.
He's a better player than Melo... They give out MVPs for a reason. -
Kevin DurantI'm a knicks fan and give major props to Melo but KD got this. KD the best SF in the league imo though.
-
Carmelo AnthonyI'll take Kobe words over anything u ? say

Kobe was more valuable in those years with a way less talented roster. -
Kevin DurantWouldn't be surprised if Melo and Durant play on the same team next year.
