This is tough I like the left side initially but then I realized that the right side is basically The Dream Team minus The Dream Hakeem Olajuwon. Let me smoke on this one.

3 out of the 5 from the 90s just aren't versatile enough.
Comparison really shows the athleticism disparity and style of play differences between the two decades. -

Two Centers? Keep Barkley he was a true Power Forward despite his height. His rebounding was amazing for his size nevermind passing underrated ball handling, and when he was hot he could give you 20 pts in a Quarter.Better matchup IMO

Fair enough.
I like David Robinson because of his athleticism and defense against the otherworldly speed and scoring of the 2k squad. He could switch off and put some strength and quickness on Shaq, from time to time. The Admiral can rebound and hold his own on the block as well.
I think pure positions are less important than matchups in this scenario

Team 2K (left side)Duncan would cause way too much of a matchup problem with Barkley in the lineup that's why I'm picking Malone instead of him who quietly was a good defender making the defensive 1st team 3 times, plugging that Stockton/Malone with Jordan, Pippen and Keem would be a thing of beauty and I would of shift my vote over to the 90's

That 90s team would have the worst spacing though. -

Stockton's Stats, career and IQ >> Payton.
But this looks like a pickup matchup of athleticism and speed.
I love Payton's defense in this scenario. I'd give him the slight edge here.
