Kubrick was a perfectionist with light and visuals... with all his films -
I mentioned Traffic earlier; Steven Soderbergh's thriller released in 2000
I'm sure by now y'all know as well as directing his films he also photographed and edited them under pseudonyms
He gave different shades and colours whilst filming in different locations. Mexico, the US and S. America to differentiate and interlock the stories -
Don't think anybody said it yet but
Akira -
Don't Get Me Started On Anime
Perfect Blue (Top 5 Anime Films Of All Time..? Would Make Hitchcock Proud)
Soderbergh Borrowed This Right Chea
-
Matrix that green hue on everything was dope
also T2 the blue hue
also the first Avengers movie was a comic book come to life
The original Nightmare on Elm street was just made creepy from beginning to end how a suburban community can become a death by dream at anytime -

So much heat been dropped.
All I got to contribute is
-Girl with the dragon tattoo (American version). Everything about that movie captured the cold. Even the music.
-think it's been said already but Sicario. I haven't felt that way about visuals and lighting in a movie in a very long time. Probly not since girl with the dragon tattoo lol.
-Haywire. The soderbergh movie with gina carano. I just liked that all the fight scenes didn't have hella cuts to stunt people cuz carano can actually fight. You get that all the time in Asian movies obviously but not really in American ones.
-300. Don't need to explain why. -
Run Lola Run (This Bih Ran For A Minute)
-
Maybe because I just watched it for the first time, but...
Has anyone said interstellar yet? ? was dope. Took me a good 2 minutes into the end credits to fully process that ? but it was a cool movie visually -
I forgot about boogie nights too. I love that movie
-
Paid In Full had that 80s vibe

Haywire was a really decent flick actually. It was a lot better than I expected it to be be. Carano was a little flat at times but I'm still kind of surprised she's only been in that Deadpool flick since then.
300 was pretty crazy for the time, that ? actually wasn't that great of a movie outside of how amazing then visuals were. Everybody has visuals like that now tho, ? I watch duck hunting shows on the outdoor channel and I swear I'm about to see King Leonidas front kick a goose of the back of pick-up or something.
EDIT: ? I just realized that when Gabi said no need to explain she meant liked 300 for the jacked up white boys in diapers and not the scenery LOL I'm dumb. -
Was watching this joint yesterday w/ my lil brother and it's crazy how fresh this joint look 21 years later. This movie completely changed the game as far as animation goes. I honestly can't think of a movie has done that. -
