These guys deserve a mention
See I'd mention them I just didn't know if they qualified, and that album is a borderline classic -
Just off of Big and Jay alone.... The Commission

*Blackstar (Mos Def & Talib Kweli)Cant believe i forgot about Bootcamp Clik
Reading through this thread I'm starting to agree that Blackstar isnt a "Supergroup" i just chose it as it was an option haha.
If im not mistaken, blackstar was both Talib and Mos' first work that got them recognition. -
Boot Camp weren't known individually they aren't a supergroup
-
All City Chess Club was a supergroup they never released an album or a song though

I'm sayin, if a group full of groups doesn't qualify as a supergroup then that term means nothing.

Nah. According to you they wouldn't be. Cool Kids aren't individuals, they're a duo. Same thing you used to discredit BCC. -

They certainly are! They were all groups that released 1-2 albums before the first bcc album dropped.
Black moon - enta da stage
Heltah skeltah - nocturnal
Smif and Wessun - dah shinin
And the ogc album I can't recall the name of.
All those releases were classics and in 97 buckshot decided everyone should work on an album together and they did boot camp clik -

Well ACCC were all solo artists and contained a duo within the collective -

I guess I'm looking at the traditional definition of a "supergroup "
If JadaKiss, Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, Buddens and Rah Digga decided to form a group that would be a supergroup
Artists who have collaborated in the past who have initial success solo or with other groups deciding to form a collective -
Army of the Pharoahs is definitely a supergroup
-
TRU 504 Boyz?
Master P,Silk n Murder didn't come in the game as a group, but made a album together.

Yep good call, both of their albums are dope -
West side connection(Ice Cube, WC, Mack 10)CAN'T BELIEVE THIS, BUT I'M GOING WITH WESTSIDE CONNECT BC THEY AT LEAST MATERIALIZED 2 DOPE ALBUMS & ALONG WITH SEVERAL DOPE FEATURES (WESTSIDE SLAUGHTERHOUSE WAS MY ? ).
BESIDES PHONE TAP, THE FIRM STRUGGLED TO DO ANYTHING TO FOLLOW UP AFFIRMATIVE ACTION.
SLAUGHTERHOUSE IS DOPE, BUT WITH THEIR LASTEST ALBUM REPLACING DETOX & THE DIRECTION OF THEIR MUSIC GOING TO ? ...I TRULY THINK THEY'RE DONE.
