Always contest.
If you live in a bigger city, or a place with a higher than normal crime rate, there is a good chance the cop who pulled you over won't even show up in court because they have "more important" stuff to do.
If you live in a smaller place, you might get the penalty lowered or dropped if you can articulate the situation better than the officer.
But you wont lose anything by having your day in court -

i disagree, you will pay for court costs plus the ticket if found guilty, PLUS time you cant get back
just pay the ticket and get it over with -
You still there ?
Drive off - even if the cop is right in front of the car. -
Not guilty......Not guilty......Not guilty....Not guilty.......... Dismissal, cops don't go to court over traffic tickets.

always contest..
worst that will happen is it'll get reduced to some ? like a parking ticket.. -

In Charlotte I dont even go to the court dates..just line at the d.a's counter at my convenience give her some. Sob story and have it dropped.

I feel I have a case cuz I did stop. But beyond that white line. Not too far whr traffic was impeded -
