He ain't rapping on this one. I'm just gonna say this man is unique.
Acting, writing screenplays, rapping, producing Atlanta tv show, now singing and making funk music?? I"m not gonna do a song for song: Basically this is how the album sounds to me:
This album is new, refreshing, experimental, psychadelic, rock n' roll soul, funk ridden fused with sounds similar to: Andre 3000, The Glorious Dead (Can't play dead), Parliament, Sly and the Family Stone, D'Angelo (the Vanguard), Cee-Lo's Imperfect Imperfections and just plain ol originality of Gambino making people dance or kick a vibe to chill on with songs of content.
It's not that he's doing multiple styles of art, but that he's doing it and killing it on an elite level while being original to his own style.
Constantly ATLiens keep expressing broader views of a culture and masculinity in tv and music. I don't think anyone better than Childish embodies this right now. Pure, Raw and unpolished
