Alex Jones has apologized.
Yes, you’re reading that correctly. The radio host famous for conspiracy theories including that fluoridated water is causing homosexuality and that the Sandy Hook massacre was staged, has apparently thrown in the towel on another fan favorite: Pizzagate.
In a highly unusual six-minute video, Jones issued a direct apology to James Alefantis for promoting the rumor that he was running a child sex ring out the basement of his restaurant, Comet Ping Pong. The belief that Alefantis, his restaurant and the alleged child sex ring were tied to former Clinton campaign chief, John Podesta subsequently become known as Pizzagate.
“I made comments about Mr. Alefantis that in hindsight I regret, and for which I apologize to him,” said Jones in his video, A Note to Our Listening, Viewing and Reading Audiences Concerning Pizzagate Coverage. “We relied on third-party accounts of alleged activities and conduct at the restaurant. We also relied on accounts of reporters who are no longer with us.”
The statement came after inquiries raised by Mr. Alefantis’ lawyers to the show.
“To my knowledge today, neither Mr. Alefantis nor his restaurant Comet Ping Pong, were involved in any human trafficking as was part of the theories about Pizzagate.”
Jones received great notoriety during the 2016 presidential campaign and has been cited as a regular source of information for President Donald Trump. The radio host interviewed candidate Trump back in 2015. He has also reportedly been promised press credentials for the daily White House briefing.
Jones insisted he had previously backed away from Pizzagate claims back in December of 2016. His full on air apology now makes it official.

Alex Jones is a weirdo, and I always avoided him because I thought he was crazy, but dude is actually pretty sane, genuine, and credible to a good extent.
Of course, his public reputation, whether true or false, precedes him. But he'll give you indisputable facts and evidence for his claims, and that's all I care about. He exposed a lot ? decades before they became public knowledge.
Watching that JRE podcast with him on completely changed my perception of him. But I still avoid him and InfoWars.

Alex is cool with me but I don't really watch his video's any more, he went kinda crazy some years back and that is because he knew how crazy things was getting and it drove him crazy.

http://www.mediaite.com/online/report-alex-jones-retracted-pizzagate-claims-to-avoid-potential-lawsuit/Report: Alex Jones Retracted Pizzagate Claims to Avoid Potential Lawsuit
Last Friday, InfoWars founder and Sandy Hook truther Alex Jones released a video statement on “#Pizzagate,” the elaborate, false claim that tied a child sex slavery ring to two different pizza shops in Washington, D.C. “I made comments about [Comet Ping Ping owner James] Alefantis that in hindsight I regret, and for which I apologize to him,” said Jones.
The apology was very out of character for Jones, and on Thursday, CNN Money media reporter Tom Kludt revealed why: Alefantis had officially sent a request for a retraction in February, and in Texas, where Jones lives, he was on a deadline to retract the statements to avoid paying punitive damages in a potential lawsuit.
Whether or not it worked remains to be seen. A spokesperson for Alefantis told The Washington Post on Saturday that the pizza shop proprietor is still weighing his legal options.
Michael Gottlieb, Alefantis’s lawyer, pointed out to Kludt that this was Jones’ second attempt at a retraction, with the first being an almost hour-long video that mixed a retraction in with claims that others floated the Pizzagate theory to divert attention away from actual ? . Jones eventually deleted it, though others have reposted it. “I don’t think it was adequate,” said Gottlieb, who added that the video “re-victimized” Alefantis.
As for the latest video with its much more direct and succinct reiteration?
“A retraction that comes in late March is a little bit late to remedy all of the damages that was done to James,” Gottlieb told Kludt. For Jones’ part, he posted another video where he pledged to push back against actual sex trafficking more, which he claimed included “documented” claims about the United Nations being involved in such activities. -
