When it comes to social issues Talib Kweli is one of the most outspoken people in hip hop. In that regard, it shouldn't be surprising that he would have a lot to say about the current state of political affairs in America.

TMZ caught up with the 41-year old Brooklyn, New York native at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday, April 24, to get his opinion on Donald Trump's first 100 days as President of the United States.

TMZ: We're coming up on Trump's 100th day in office. How do you think this administration has affected Obama's legacy?

Talib Kweli: I think it's made people understand the bar is set way lower for white men. Trump can be mediocre, he could be a failure. Obama had to work so much more harder than everybody else. He had so many more obstacles to overcome than Donald Trump has. And he still was called a monkey. Still called a liar to his face by a congressman. Trump lies every day. Ain't nobody calling him a liar to his face.

TMZ: So, there's obviously a racial divide there?

Talib: That's the whole reason Donald Trump is president. It's America paying us back for the n*gger president.

TMZ: Would you like to sit down with him?

Talib: Absolutely not. Donald Trump would have to say and do a hell of a lot of things. He would have to make a lot of apologies before I would sit down.

TMZ: Any advice for him?

Talib: My advice is that America is great. Not because rich, straight, white men, who have always been in power make it great. America is great because of diversity. So, you have to learn about marginalized communities. You have to learn about Jewish people, Muslims, women, black people, ? people. You now, people who are going to be further marginalized in Trump's America. He should reach out to those communities and listen to those communities. Instead of dictating to those communities.

I agree with this but.....when that happens people come down on whoever he reaches out to. Talib said he wouldn't sit down with dude, so what's the answer other than waiting 4 years for President Chelsea Clinton.

Like who - Steve Harvey ?

I think if he was meeting with actual leaders / appointed representatives of said groups and there was some transparency and measurable, agenda then there wouldn't be a problem.

But to meet just for a photo op, or to not do anything after the meeting, or for them to come out of meeting kissing his ass - yeah ? 'em. I can see why people would come down on them.

Trump being so open about it helps too. Past presidents just used benign neglect.

100000% facts. I told people this before the election. A black US president was highly resented.

I don't know if I agree with that statement. There are most definitely some people out there that feel like them, but let's be real, most of those people don't vote Democrat anyway. Trump is in office more because nobody liked Hillary than anything else. Trump energized the racists, so they turned out in droves to vote for him. The people that were tired of the establishment voted for him because he presented himself as anti-establishment. So his base supported him. The Democratic base was larger, but they were nearly as strongly behind Hillary.

    Exactly.
For 8 years they were only united in obstructing and sabotaging Obama.

But now that he is no longer and office...there's no Clinton to blame....and with the Democrats being the minority in Congress.....

Republicans are ripping each apart. The proverbial dog that finally catches its tail.

Of course, their conservative voting base doesn't see this because they are still high off of actually getting a white man back in the White House. But even that high is going to come down eventually.

And THAT is when things are really going to get interesting. Because them devils are going to want to see results and a substantial betterment of their lives and income...especially with the ""Communism Socialist Marxist tyrannical Muslim Brotherhood agent Obummer"" no longer in power. After all he was the reason and cause of all their woes right???

Imo Trump is president because they needed some arrogant cocky know it all type to go in there and pull the ? he's pulling now. If Obama had done any of this stuff America would have come for him.

I think the love for Trump in America gets way overstated. Remember: ? got like 3 million LESS votes than Hillary. Most Americans did NOT want his ? in the White House

He's easily the least popular newly elected president ever:

^^^They didn't just poll black people

    Intelligent brother....

You dang right White America would rather give a below average White guy props before giving a Black guy his props.

A lot of us out here working with little mini Trump's everyday. We work harder and are much more intelligent than our pale skinned counterparts get that still find a way to excel sometimes even ahead of us while being inferior to us in the same aspects they're promoted for.

as succinctly put by Chris Rock

See, the Black man gotta fly to get to somethin' the White man can walk to
