Man charged with fatally stabbing his father in Southeast Washington

A 26-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged with fatally stabbing his father earlier this month in Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police.
David Blakeney Jr., 26, of Southeast, was charged with second-degree murder. The victim was identified as David Blakeney, 53, also of Southeast. Dustin Sternbeck, a spokesman for the D.C. police, confirmed the victim was the suspect’s father.
The elder Blakeney was pronounced dead on the scene in the 1200 block of Stevens Road in the Barry Farm neighborhood. His body was discovered about 10 a.m. on April 17.
Police did not reveal a possible motive; more details could be made public later Wednesday when the suspect makes his initial appearance in D.C. Superior Court.
