In Hindsight How Do You Feel About Benzino?

When Eminem came out and blew up Benzino was the first (and only to my knowledge) to go at him. He said that Eminem was a fake, a culture vulture and was bad for Hip Hop.
Eminem had an army at Interscope that fired back and effectively shut The Source down (coupled with the fact that the internet was making magazines obsolete). The machine made Benzino out to be a racist and a hater.
But now in 2017 EVERYBODY ON THE IC seems to agree that Eminem's music has no replay value and his only fans are people that don't listen to rap. There was even a thread about it: Let's Settle This, Who's Got The More Annoying Stan Base?: Eminem vs Pac. Eminem won the poll 61-18.

Boston affiliates of rapper Benzino have been arrested in what is being called the biggest gang sweep in the city's history.
According to the Boston Globe, 48 members of the Columbia Point Dawgs street gang were indicted on gun and drug charges on Thursday, following the FBI's extensive investigation on the long lasting gang. On Friday, 42 members were arrested, including rapper Willie "Scodough" Berry, a friend of Benzino's. Six other suspects have yet to be detained by the police.

That Interscope backing was a beast. And lack of outlets helped at the time. Internet was up and running, but it wasn't what it is now. There was no social media. Jimmy Iovienne managed to make it Eminem, Dr. Dre, 50 cent, G- Unit, Shady, Aftermath, D-12, Obie Trice & XXL VS. The Source & Murder Inc.
I remember as a teen the Interscope umbrella was everywhere. XXL even had a article saying that 50 Cents order of protection never existed. But truth is, it was real. NYPD did it without 50 ordering it. That's when I started learning how American Media was used as a brainwashing tool. -
But, when it's all said and done, I play Boottee, Boottee remix, and Rock The Party more than anything Eminem has besides maybe Talking To Myself & Beautiful.

Remember the source issue called the drama that had 4 different collectors covers and you had one with Nas during his beef with Jay, one with Suge just getting out of jail, one with Jada during his beef with Beans and after his debut, then he tried to lump himself in there like anyone gave a ? ?

Respect him being a street dude, that Paul Pierce thing was no joke. On the hip-hop side though, he was kinda the problem with late 90's/early 2000's rap, everybody was a mogul like Puff. Blatatly giving your group 4.5 in the Source (those who know, know the importance of that back then) was a joke and i've not respected him as an artist since. That Eminem beef was wack. Tommy's Theme was a classic though...

1. Benzino's music has more replay value than Eminem's. Not saying that I bump Benzino's music but Eminem's music is unlistenable.
2. If you're saying The Source was "widely known to be biased from the jump" thats like saying allhiphop.com is widely known to be biased from the jump. Lets not go there. -
