During an interview with Jeremy Schapp on ESPN’s “E:60,” Mike Tyson opened up about having been molested when he was a child.
“Well I don’t like to talk about that, I like to keep that where it was in the past, but I was molested as a child,” Tyson said, recalling how when he was a child, a man grabbed him and tried to pull him into a building, though he would not give any further details than that when pressed.
He did say, however, that the experience changed him: “It made me have to be tough for the world I lived in.”
When Schapp pointed out that this was not something he had heard Tyson talk about, Tyson replied, “It was no one’s business to know, people just don’t talk about it because to some people they believe it’s demasculating them.”
He added that he “probably” felt shamed because of what happened to him but insisted, “I learned that it doesn’t make you any less of a man because it happened.”
Although Schapp said that he had never heard the story before, this was not the first time Tyson opened up about his past. He told the same story during an interview with SiriusXM’s Opie Radio in 2014, describing how a man snatched him off the street when he was seven. He was able to escape and run away from the man.

I really think it's great that he opened up about that.
-
I do recall him mentioning that before.
-
He had a pretty rough life all around before ? found him.
-
"Imma ? you until you love me"

That's wild. He played that character in a SVU episode and did it so well. Almost too well. This certainly explains a lot of his behavior in the past.... how he had to spread his pain. He was angry, rightfully, and I feel sad for him. On the flip side, I would actually pay to see Tyson VS that MacGregor dude.

It was in his autobiography....I just read it last semester for psychology....his life in general was very interesting but typical for the average black person growing up in brownsville around that era

I remember hearing about my classmate in college telling me she used to be ? by her step mom in high school. I've seen her step mom. Both got big ass ? . I was pressing her for more details and was hard as a rock.

I'm always astounded by the adversity he faced on his path to become the youngest heavy weight champion ever. It really speaks volumes to the importance of having ? in his life. Don King ruined everything.

Yeah, big boxing fan, big Tyson fan. Dude's growth as a person, never mind as an athlete, is just astounding. Exhibit A:

I never knew about this though. Makes his life story that much more inspirational. Incidentally, that Tyson documentary is number one on my netflix queue, can't wait to watch that jawn. In other news:

That is something I didn't know about Iron Mike. He has a podcast called bite the mic, check it out it is a good one. I remember a story about he used to chase Keenan Wayans out of the clubs for impersonating him on in Living Color
