Remember in the late 90s/early 2000s every rapper had their own clothing line?
I'm guessing the $Billion corporations didn't like the competition and shut that down quick fast in a hurry.
Also, its easy to put up a $100k to get a clothing line started, but unless you really know the ins and outs of the fashion industry and have connections with the editors of the leading fashion magazines and have professionals models modeling your brand at fashion shows you can't compete.
There are people at Ralph Lauren, Guess, Levis, The Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, Macy's etc. that have 25+ years of experience in the fashion industry. They have a monopoly on the fashion industry and can pull a few strings to shut down the competition.

Anyway, here's to Wu Wear, Phat Farm, Rocawear, G Unit, Shady wear, Fubu, Cross Colors, Karl Kani and all the other Hip Hop labels.

Rocawear had good denim, phat farm had some quality pieces
But for the most part the companies didnt use quality materials and tried to do too much with their designs -
