first let me say that i give props to those people who tried out the replika app. while i dont understand why ? are afraid of it when they use siri and alexa and talk into a phone to give your social...but now they scared. ? raised in the hood but scared of AI? something aint right

but anyway...

lets talk about how A.I. is taking over and why you should get on the bandwagon and start your own A.I. bot.

first lets look at how A.I. is in our lives, or should i say taking over our lives.

we got the homie @sion. he can tell you and give advice about stocks and help you make alot of money. but guess what...

so i ask...why wont you create your own AI bot?
we need a bit of diversity and the world will do it anyway...why not be able to stay ahead of the curve since so many people are afraid of AI. why not try to understand it and be steps ahead of the game. understand what drives it and what controls it and how it thinks.
create your own bot to do what you want it to do.

have it data mine for nudes.
have it be a black militant
    have it be hood
    have it help your lyrics
have it look for a job for you
have it answer your emails or facebook posts when you dont feel like doing it.

    https://www.wired.com/2016/03/google-inbox-auto-answers-emails/
    https://www.zendesk.com/answer-bot/

    the possibilities are endless.

you can hold multiple conversations with out speaking or typing a word.

like i said...the ? is coming anyway, why not learn and create your own.

i drop a few links it you want to try...if not cool.

    but i know i will.

i have started the process of creating my own AI.
it will be a cleverbot. it will have natural language process and deep learning, learning as it goes. I will teach it to data mine an teach itself and also teach it to improve itself.

sounds crazy but it is already a ton of people doing it.

so dont be afraid ...be apart of the dawn of this revolution. yes, you would have to learn basic coding ...an even if you are not successful with AI at least you have a skill thats marketable.

    https://www.chatbots.org/ai_zone/
    https://discuss.openai.com/
    http://forums.fast.ai/

    feel free to add.

how do you feel about AI?
where do you see it going?
are you afraid of it? why?

    lets talk about it.

here are some steps from Amazon on how to build your own Alexa

    http://www.zdnet.com/article/raspberry-pi-gets-amazon-backing-as-a-low-cost-alexa-voice-assistant/

Amazon has released a step-by-step guide on how to turn the $35 Raspberry Pi into a voice-controlled assistant.

The instructions demonstrate how to set up the single board computer to use Amazon's Alexa Voice Service to create a low-cost alternative to the Echo, Amazon's $180 smart speaker.

Like other online assistants, Amazon's Alexa responds to voice commands and can set reminders, play music, and answer simple questions.

While it was previously possible to use Alexa Voice Service with a Raspberry Pi, by releasing the guide, Amazon has made it simpler for users to gain access to the service.

Alexa is similar to other voice-activated companions, although Amazon's efforts are less prominent than the likes of Apple's Siri, Microsoft's Cortana, or Google's Now.

The service is used by the Echo, which is not officially available outside the United States, as well as by free apps on iOS and Android devices, again only available in the US.

However, now, thanks to an extensive post on GitHub by Amazon, all the code required to build a Raspberry Pi version of Alexa is available online.

To build the voice-powered assistant, the guide recommends a second-generation Raspberry Pi, a USB mini microphone, an Ethernet cable, and a MicroSD memory card, all of which can be acquired for a lower cost than an Echo. Amazon is still looking to make money from these 'homemade' devices, however, with the walkthrough linking to these items on its online store.

According to the GitHub post, the only downside of the Raspberry Pi version of Alexa is rather than it being fully voice-activated, the user can only talk to the device via the use of a push-to-talk button, meaning it's not very useful outside of arm's length.

Crucially, Alexa on Raspberry Pi is available outside the United States, which gives Amazon the chance to increase the service's reach, while also providing the firm with larger amounts of voice and language data for analysis.

The versatility of the Raspberry Pi means it can be used to build a wide range of things, including a smart rain detector.

why not fight skynet with your own bot?

you can program it to do what you want it to do.

why do you think people are made to be afraid of it? because they dont want you to have your own type of control over yourself or the technology.

native americans were afraid of the thunder sticks. until they got their hands on a few....an they used them to fight back.

this will definitely impress the ladies.....

    a little AI project

    Magic Mirror

    F3SAANNJ153ZMB8.MEDIUM.jpg

This was an awesome project. I saw the initial version of the Magic Mirror platform a while back and wanted to make one. I decided to do this for my girlfriend's Christmas present.

I found the frame in a thrift store for $20. Seeing the frame made me jump on the project. That thing is incredible…plastic…but incredible…

For the glass, I looked around a lot and compared pictures and whatnot and decided to go with actual smart mirror glass from Two Way Mirrors. I’m really happy with the reflection/allowance ratio. It looks great! That being said, the glass was the most expensive part of the project, and if you wanted to make one on the cheap, smaller glass or even the reflective tape option could suffice.

I sourced a 32" TV from a ? shop. Well, two of them. Ever opened up an LED TV? Yeah…maybe don’t. The first one became a great set of LED strips and some sweet thin speakers for another project. Second one I pulled off everything I could while keeping the housing intact, and it made it to the finish line.

    Step 1: Frame Housing Construction
    FOXB9N6J153ZMAX.MEDIUM.jpg

I lucked out with the frame having preexisting holes that the old glass was mounted with. I created a set of rails to use the holes, then built a wall on those rails to secure a backing to.

    Step 2: Masking
    FW8MN3IJ153ZMB0.MEDIUM.jpg

The light wood shows through the glass, as well as the TV logo and vol/ch button text, so I ended up painting the front of the wood black and masking the logo/text with electrical tape.

    Step 3: Frame Mods
    F2PPWPSJ153ZMB1.MEDIUM.jpg

I added fans into the side of the backing I made to get airflow into the TV. I ended up going with silent fans because regular ones were way too noisy.

This thing is a beast and hard to carry around, so I installed some handles for the top and bottom of the frame. That worked really well!

    Step 4: Wiring
    F1B2M3JJ153ZMB4.MEDIUM.jpg
    FMZP9B0J153ZMB5.MEDIUM.jpg

Here is everything inside. I opted for a RPi case with a fan because it will be locked in there. I haven’t seen issues with temperature yet.

I ran power connectors for the fans through a protoboard, but I’m sure that could have been tidied up a bit with direct wiring.

Everything plugged into a 3-way plug and connected to a single extension cord running out the bottom of the frame housing.

I put a PIR sensor at the base of the frame to turn the mirror on and off based off of movement. The TV I have in it currently doesn’t support sleep mode, so when the PIR sensor would turn it back on after hiding, the RPi wouldn't know what to do with the display resolution.

I asked a friend from work, Josh Mclaughlin, to write a new module that would essentially throw a black box over everything instead of turning the signal to the monitor off completely. That definitely fixed the issue and now it hides the display as intended until you walk up to it. Super cool.

    Step 5: Closing It Up
    F4TXP8IJ153ZMB6.MEDIUM.jpg

Here it is closed up from the back. I drilled holes for the existing TV mounts, and used a tv wall mount to hang it.

    Step 6: Modules and Modifications
    FPVB1G1J153ZMB7.MEDIUM.jpg

There are a lot of cool modules you can put into this, and a great dev community continuing to contribute to it.

These are the initial modules I loaded into the platform:

    Time/date
    Google Calendar
    MMM-forecast-io
    Compliments
    News Feed
    WatchDog
    MMM-Remote-Control
    MMM-PIR-Sensor
    MM-PIR-Hide-All

The new version of the MMM-Remote-Control module allows for adding new modules and altering your config file from a smartphone (or any device with a browser on the same network,) so expanding on it and trying new modules is a breeze. The current version threw a few bugs into my config file, so keep an eye on what it is changing.

You can get full info on installation on the main Magic Mirror page here, and there is a great community interacting in a forum here that can answer any and all questions you might have around setup and modification of the software.

then expand to smart house and then have all my houses connected over the net..so i can talk out loud an control the temperature and lights in my house in PA and turn the air on in my carribean crib, send up to date stock info to my mobile, and scan for new porn...all from switzerland while having it answer emails, finding a good movie and arguing on the IC with @blackrain or @blakfiyaking .

i like to dream big...thats all i ever do.
