Thanks again for letting me in this tread. More reason why I choose to write, because I find it educational, very good hobby to become a good writer. Reading and learning poetry is good, we are always learning new information, not only from us, but learning from many different people, good luck to all poets, and writers.

To me, it's a vent of frustration. I enjoy when I see the words I use rhyme and find a hole in happiness when I say something that is deep and preaches to me. Sometimes, I find what I think in what I write, even though my thoughts don't tell me what I think. It's difficult to put into words, but what you write is what you think, but what you think isn't necessarily what you write. So you discover yourself even thought it's you that is writing.

It's a great outlet ultimately and one that I don't do regularly, but when I do, I enjoy it thoroughly.

I enjoy reading poetry as well, especially from posters on here as we come from a similar culture.

I really enjoy how there are no boundaries in poetry, No social boundaries or creative boundaries. It is just a poet and his/her words. I Love the stories and emotion behind them and the messages which hit you.

I Think poetry can be anything you can make it out to be, Thats why its great to read other peoples pieces. And some pieces can be different to other people even though its the same poem.

One of my favorite poems is Tupac Shakur - In the Depth of Solitude. I Remember first reading this years and years ago and thinking if i could write down the truth in the form of words, that it could actually be that poem.

    Digg that...

You've actually hit the nail with this one, cause it's true.. Poetry can be anyting.. and it's why I love poetry too..

I remember when i first started, my poems didn't make sense to some people or get the justifications...

btw, Tupac Shakur, is one of my favorite poets too, his literature work really inspired me in way's people wouldn't understand lol..

anyway's thank you for sharing and contributing to this thread I created ;)

    Peace!

Honestly I started writing to impress a chick, but then I liked it. Now I write all the time just cuz I like it. I dig mixin words together that I never heard together before and it just makes sense to me.

I write for the sake of my future. For our children's future. For that stormy night, I watched my friend fall into the Earth...to always remember. To bring life. To sustain all that is naturally possible within our forgotten minds. That page is my canvas. My pen strokes creates illustrations for the reader to embark upon. It is my gift, the last relic of my physical form on this world. The only blueprint that showed the secrets of my mind that I do not share, even with myself. To liberate the locked souls or to assuage the pain of the fallen. We are all travelers on this plane, searching for meaning and understanding. I am just the cartographer who will leave behind what I find for the advancement of the proverbial soul of the human race.

Me, not so much. I don't know if that's good or bad, but whatever. It's just me making an observation if anything.

    ? 'S GIFT TO ME

    If you Believe
    ?
    Gives Us
    Each a Gift.

    Then you
    Will Know
    Mine Is
    From Him.

    I Did not Go
    To School
    As Others Did.

    I Did not Go
    To High School
    To Reach
    The Grades
    I Should.

    I Heard
    The Call
    Answered
    Faith.

    My Life
    Was
    Not
    My Own.

    When
    I Was Young,
    I Had
    To Take
    The Path
    That was
    Given Me.

    No Parents
    But an Orphan's
    Home.

    For
    Seventeen Years
    I Walked
    The Way.

    Then The Army
    Came To Me.

    It Was A Way
    To Set Me Free.

    Little Did I Know,

    The Cost
    It Would Take.

    It Led Me
    To Nam,
    Where
    I was
    Out of Place.

    Through The War,
    I Tried My Best.

    Faith Was Shaken
    By The Test.

    Then I Came Upon
    A Mine.

    I Kept My Legs
    And My Mind.

    When I Found
    I Could not Walk,
    I Cried Out
    To My ? .

    I Called Upon
    His Name To Help.

    My Faith
    Was not With me.

    The Walk
    Would not Be Easy.
    Though
    I Have Wheels Today.

    Now Through
    My Writings,
    I Found
    He Is At My Door.

    For When
    I Reach Heaven.
    All The Sorrows
    Will Be Gone.

    I Am Finding,
    He Has Given Me
    His Heart.

    Blessed Me
    With A Purpose.

    That I May Reach
    Your Heart.

    Dedicated To Scotty G
    A Soul
    Who Hopes
    To Be A Poet

    A Poeatreeman

    I Hope
    I Have Helped You,
    To Understand.

    It Takes All Your Heart
    And Faith, To Stand.

    Walk The Way
    That Will Lead To Him.

    The Path
    Will Not Be Easy.

    The Efforts
    Will Win The Way.

    Your Efforts
    Will Not, Go
    Un-rewarded.

    Yet Look Not
    For Them Today.

    They Will Come
    Upon You.

    In Many
    Different Ways.

    Look Not
    To Man,
    To Reap
    The Harvest.

    For Truth
    Is Only
    Held By One.

    Keep Faith,
    It Will All
    Take Place
    One Day...
