I knew it was Jesse Jackson I was just seeing who knew. And yea it seems like we get a new name every 30 years cause it's set that way. We have a "name''? We have a real nationality. We are Moors. Before 1492 we were called Moors or Blackamoor as in "black as a moor". We should be putting down Moorish on these Census forms, not black or ? or colored.

I call myself black based on my Caribbean background from my parents and not African American. I never knew where the phase actually came from.

Why don't we come up with something other than black (we are diff shades) and african american (we are far removed from our african ancestors)?

I don't think our descendants were Moors and mainly Islamic. Islam is a new religion. Our descendants can be traced back to Israel long before the birth of Islam.

Well this is the problem, everybody wants supremacy when the truth is that our ancestors came from all over Africa (including Israel), Europe and the Americas with a small minority from East Asia. we all of that. However, black/African American is the title we use NOW.

I really don't know what else to say because everybody's views are different. What I do know is that breaking off into little titles and groups would make us weaker as a political & economic force.

I studied the Moorish History and it's FACTUAL.

    Israelite history? Factual as well.

    Native history? Same as above.

Sub Saharan history? This is WHAT MOST OF US ARE EVEN WITH ADMIXTURE.

European history? Troof as well b.

East Asian ancestry too cuz? Yep.

Keep in mind that Africa is still our power base and black is a blanket term as well as Creole, Latino, West Indian.

What is this correlation with a 'color' to a geographical 'ethnicity'? I don't understand how it can bounce from one to the other (I feel it's used for convenience)? Can anyone expound on this?
