then maybe the boxing world should have picked a better flag barer...

it is something to brag about when Toney was talkin mad ? .

And numerous ? on here talking mad ? on MMA...

this does mean something it's salt in the wound to a bunch a ? that don't know shiot bout real fighting...

could you see the outcome being different with say.... Mayweather v Aldo?

james wasn't forced to do mma, he wanted too.

Close thread after this non sense

From the post fight press conference :

"Would you consider a boxing fight against Toney ?"

"I would gracefully decline such an offer."
"It would be silly, as silly as James coming in."
"I would probably get knocked out in the first round."

Come on cuz, everybody knew James Toney wasn't winning this fight. I'm not eve sure he knew he was winning this fight(even though he did talk mad ? ). Either way you put Couture in a boxing ring and it's light's out for that dude. It doesn't matter about athletics because James Toney was out of his element, just as Randy would be out of his element in a boxing ring.

he wasn't out of his element... he had ample amount of time to prepare, the fight started on the feet right? so he was in his element... it was his responsibility to keep it there....
I suggest some of you take a look at Couture's older fight video's back when has still had some hair... his boxing is surprisingly good... so yeah. I think his athleticism would play a big role..
He had ample amount of time? 6 months against a guy who been doing it since age 8? True. It still remains though that if this was a boxing match Couture woulda got lit up.

    yes.
You go to a gym, and you work on take down defense...

You get your underhooks turn him towards the cage and hit him on the break....

look see how quickly i came up with a game plan agaist Couture?

couture has experience in the octagon, james doesn't.

I believe more in his striking ability then he does...

I'm not gonna make excuses for him, I just know that what I'm saying is true...

    But here's what I don't get...
All ya'll that are on the defensive right now, when there is a thread bashing MMA how many of you are right there with your pitchforks and torches?

Toney had every opprotunity to bring it in that fight... every MMA fight starts on it's feet... Instead of talking ? maybe Toney shoulda been working on his takedown and submission defense...

lol at the thought of one dimensional fighters being superior to multi-faceted fighters.

alot of ya'll just don't understand the concept of fighting...

randy isn't known for his striking
