Honestly when it comes to the rapping about the misfortunes of fame,rap, and women problems. Phonte is ahead of him in terms of depth of content, wordplay , and just sheer ability. Drake barely scratches the surface of his topics and tends to diverge into rapping about materialistic things. Hey feel free to discuss

    As much as I love this track...

    What was so much better about Phonte's verse again? He did spit some real ? , but so did Drake. But Drake had better punchlines. Drake also had a better flow. Naw, Drake won that one.

    I co-sign the notion of Drake being a better artist.

    Drake=phonte. He use to say phonte was his favorite rapper in interviews before he got wit YM and he said phonte was so clever and he use to mimic his style. Think good thoughts is my favorite track on that tape. Elzhi also snapped too on that

    Just to show how much they know people are sweatin' them, they pulled that wack attention-? move over the weekend about getting married, and had y'all jumping up and down over it. I bet if it was Lil Kim who would've said she was getting married (to let's say Ray J), y'all would've been saying she's trying to stay relevant, etc....

    Anyway:

    Drake - Over-Promotion - Lil' Wayne = nobody

    Nicki Minaj - Over-Promotion - Butt injections = #50 female in hip hop (borderline pop)

    This is simple for me....

    I relate to Phonte, I don't relate to Drake as much. Drake is overrated IMO. He's nice, but Phonte is a WAY better artist because he can put out a song that COULD be a hit, he just doesnt get radio play.

    In all honesty tho Big Pooh has released solo projects, Phonte has yet to do that!

    Drake emerged as a solo artist, so to say Drake is as an artist better than Phonte, it hasn't been shown yet!

    From a success standpoint, Phonte has been successful independently in his projects without any mainstream hype with Little Brother and Foreign Exchange!
    So if we're talking about success..IMO Phonte has a nice track record overall!

    With Drake..I've heard songs from him, I'm still neutral because he does collabo with hip hop artists I listen to, but he's just don't see the hype about him

    J Cole on the other hand, not bad at all, I heard a couple tracks!! I've heard some Freddie Gibbs tracks too, he's on the rise!

    phonte is a better rapper
    drake has more entertaining songs whether he sings, raps, or just adlibs...
    phonte is a bette rapper, has more depth lyrically but overall i'd be more inclined ot keep a drake cd in my car, ipod, hosue where as phonte probably would be in two of those only

    I actually prefer Phonte's rapping and singing over Drake's but that shouldn't take away from Drake's talent.

    Both are good... can we just let that be?
