If a mad scientist erased all of your memories and replaced them with an artificial set of memories or the memories of Ghandi, Einstein, Mother Theresa etc., would you still be the same person? You would have the same genes, the same body/brain but none of the experience that's shaped your personality.

The most we can say who we are is human, and even then it is temporary. But the rest is a collections of thoughts.
