How much longer before facebook is on myspace status

It seems like in the past year more and more people have been turning away from facebook and im wondering how much longer before facebook is abandoned like myspace has. I dont have a facebook page and it seems like im the only one that doesnt, but I was thinking about creating one, just to reconnect with some people ive lost touch with, however; im afraid that once we reconnect we will stop chatting after a couple of email exchanges. Ive heard that this is common on facebook. Unless you currently know the person, dont expect to rebuild a friendship that may have been lost due to losing touch because of going to 2 different colleges
