Are there any examples of coups or rebellions in Africa that were orchestrated by someone who was American born? Someone give me a history lesson

The African countries of Liberia and Seirre Leone were formed by former slaves from the United States and of course over time they were revealed to be Uncle Toms and started to F' up their countries for the benefit of the United States and the Europeans.
