Is the natural look for black women making a comeback?

No offense towards my beautiful sistas who sport weave and relaxed hair. Around campus, I'm seeing a lot of women take the big chop or rocking the fro and looking mighty good with it if I might add. I'm a sucker for women with nice locs myself. Are you all seeing the same thing? I really don't like chicks with weave honestly. I'll take a chick with a short doo over one with a weave.

natural hair doesn't always equal an Angela Davis afro...there's some chicks who have natural hair that you wouldn't even realize it unless you asked...my girl is one of them

Exactly. They're many different natural styles. Some people are born naturally straight haired and curly-haired -
First they chopping there hair off and now they going back to beadie-beads?
Gotdamnit I'm trying to hang in there with u black ass women I swear I am but I can only take so much. -

yea that's what's so interesting about black hair it comes in so many textures that 'natural' hair just doesn't fit one category.
I think I see alot more women simply embracing their natural texture, and feeling less pressure to wear their hair a certain way, and just going with what makes them feel comfortable with themselves -
Not in California it isn't.

I hope not....I can always appreciate a woman with a good perm

I hope so
:tu to natural ladies -

If the natural look means wearing your real hair (no perm), nails, eyebrows, eyes, breast, etc. then it should've never went anywhere in the first place. Better late than never.

I'm going natural hair-wise...

i'm gettin my relaxer cut out tomorrow.
mannnnnnnnnnnnn i was supposed2go natural sooooooo long ago but things happen =\
i hate relaxers anyway so i'm excited!
&my mom has locs so the natural thing aint that foreign to me -
problem with black women is that they absolutely have no patience
and few woman can pull off the natural look -
i see more and more women with mohawks and kool aid purple hair everyday. so no its not. not in new york anyway.

Not more than it's always been. Yall act like there arent hundreds of thousands of females wearing natural hair already lol. Not every black chick has a weave or a perm.
Anyway, it aint for me. My real hair was natural for damn near 2 yrs cause i kept getting sew in weaves and didnt wanna perm my head. But now I took the weave out, and slapped a perm in quick fast. Natural aint my thing. -
I'm down with any hair style that looks decent. But females are chopping thier hair off and wearing it more nappy than some dudes and I'm just supposed to "embrace" it because she's black. Invest in a straightening comb sweety this aint the jungle.
