Bass drums aren't hitting hard enough?

Try doubling your main bass drum. Put it on a seperate channel. pan 1 bass drum to the left and the other to the right. drop 1 octave on 1 of the drums to get a harder feel for it. Remember to monitor how the drum hits. How? It's simple. MUTE the bass drums when you listen to them. The last step is USE YOUR EARS. Mixing isn't easy and if your anything like me you weren't a very good listener in school but if this is what you truely love then you will take the extra time to ACTUALLY listen. This may be basic for some but hopefully this will help a beginner out.

I never thought to "double and pan" the kick. I will try that later to see the difference.
