Man I like Q-tip a little bit better than Phife. but Phife got some memorable lines and some great verses. On the other note low end theory isn't as good as midnight marauders

Sadly, Phife never got his dues as much as on MM. I agree he's better, just listen to Award Tour. Even in Low End Theory he appears here and there for a verse or two but never as much as Tip.

"Do something different and take that garbage to St. Elsewhere" - enough said.

To me, I prefer it to "Midnight Marauders" even though it's less popular.

Phife was the nicer lyricist but Tip was the star, he had more presence to me. I always liked his abstract style!

I respect that opinion but I disagree. Even Phife Dawg would tell you Tip was nicer than him. Back then that was the consensus and it still is as far as I'm cornerned. It's similar to if some young a*s n*gga that heard Orgasnized Konfusion's old sh*t for the first time would make a thread saying Prince Po was nicer than Pharoahe. That revisionist sh*t doesn't work IMO. Tip was always the star of the group. Real heads know this...

Always thought that the both of them should've never split up. They, along with Ali Shaheed Muhammed (spelling???), were tight as a group. U could tell how much both needed each other when they put their solo albums out and they both kinda sucked. Tip had "Vibrant Thing" and "Breath & Stop", but the rest ofhis album was garbage IMO.

Those joints were the beginning of the end for him in terms of his solo sh*t. Other then that I agree with you. That last Tribe album was a huge disappointment though. That n*gga Consequence was on way too many tracks and f*cked it up IMO.

    thats HIGHLY debatable my friend

but I'm mad when a KNOWLEDGEABLE hip hop head
proclaim they prefer one over the other

just not when they say one is straight better than the other

    they equal, ones a S-Class the other a 7-Series

Yeah, Tip caught a ton of heat for those two tracks cuz he switched up his whole demeanor on them. A lotta people said he sold out cuz to go mainstream. I remember buying that CD, listening to it and being mad as hell cuz I was disappointed with the CD as a whole. Q-Tip seems to have gone back to his "abstract" style on his more recent album, though.
