I'm not really expecting this thread to get very far, but maybe it will open "believers" eyes to the hypocrisy we may be involved in. I don't really like posting scripture (for personal reasons) but I figure I take a chance with this one. It directed at the Jews, but it applies to all who think they are doing ? 's Will (me included).

Romans 2: 17-24

17. Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and boast in ? ; 18. if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law; 19.if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, 20. an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of little children, because you have in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth—21. you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? 22. You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples? 23. You who boast in the law, do you dishonor ? by breaking the law? 24. As it is written: "? 's name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."

Oh, the hypocrisy.

Yea, Paul was going off in parts of the epistle to Rome. He pointed out a some big problems with ppl in general, this one just one example.

Glad to see you aiming to reference scripture for the right reasons! (would like to see more of this)

Practicing what we preach should come naturally with those who honestly seek to do ? 's will. That doesn't mean a person will never slip up sometimes. And also, in general where the Bible talks about 'breaking the law' or sinning, it's referring to a continuous, willful, walking in that direction.
