    "Put the knife down"
    "Put the knife down"
    "6 shots"

    SMH

I hope one day they start making anyone associated with law enforcement submit to hundreds of psychological tests before they let them serve. And even before they go on duty they should given a gun with blanks and "confronted" by an undercover pretending to be a crook to trigger their response and reaction. Until then it will continue, cops are power hungry and are seriously untouchable in the judicial system. People need to stand up against all police and fight back until a new system is put into place. Oh, and dude should have dropped the knife, situation avoided. But police still need to learn to control their emotions and stick to the code, even if dude charged him with the knife he could have fired one non lethal shot to drop the suspect and arrest him, six is too much. Son should fired and locked up.

A dash cam video from the officer who shot and killed Native American woodcarver John T. Williams was released Friday...

Officer Birk responds, "Ma'am, he had a knife and wouldn't drop it."

Later, fellow officers talk to Birk out of the camera's view. They ask, "How you doing?" Birk responds, "I'm all right. He had it open, I asked him to drop it multiple times, he was carving up that board."...
    Hilarious.

Birk's badge was later pulled after a Seattle Police Department Review Board and Chief John Diaz reached a preliminary finding that Williams' shooting was not justified.

Standard police procedure is mace or stun gun for an initial knife threat, this pig is ? .

Shoulda played it safe with a black victim at night and a longer pause before gunshots.

Yup, they'll find that it was merely just a case of mistaken weapon identity, thought he was pulling out his tazer but it was actually his gun, oopsie.

Man, what's sad is that strategy would probably work.

    ....

oh wait, it DID already work...........in the Oscar Grant trial........

honestly, i blame some of this on the average person's fear of and thus lack of familiarization with firearms

It seems like every other day an innocent minority is gunned down by racist cops. Like someone said earlier, a murdered cop gets no sympathy from me. For every cop killed in the line of duty, there are 5-10 innocent minorities wrongfully murdered by trigger-happy police officers. Sad but true. Hence my deep disdain for the P.D.

That cop just wanted to ? somebody plain and simply. How the hell do you just roll up on some dude walking across the street, start yelling commands, and then shoot him because he doesn't comply within the 7 second time frame you give him. Then the police wonder why the public doesn't cooperate. SMH
