Why do people always think "the next year" will be better?

This time of year, all you hear is "2011 is MY YEAR"
or "Get ready 2011!!"
By March ? is basically in the SAME POSITION they were in LAST MARCH. Maybe a few pounds heavier, or lighter, depending on how they eatin.
But come December 2011, "2012 is MY YEAR!!!"

Lets just admit that most people are set in their ways by a certain age.
The only way people truly change in most cases is a personal revelation or near death, not a new calendar year. -

was talking bout this the other day, cuz M.F. on facebook kept saying tha ? and one by one I deleted them.. except my lil cousins..
People really need to stop saying that ? .. I understand what they doing but why wait to a new year to start, and put it all over the internet. Basically saying I'm not ? in 2010 but ima be the ? in 2011 -

I don't really see nothing wrong with it personally. I mean, if someone has a goal that they've been working hard at to meet and they can finally see the finishline approaching to reaching said goal...I think they have a pretty good reason to be excited for themselves in the new year.
However, folks that just be talking to be talking, ? Them! -
yeah u right and thats why i dont make resolutions no more.things will go different for me goal wise as i will continue to pass my courses and should be getting my AA degree next fall.other than financially and career wise i will still be the same man and have the ame habits,attitude and outlook on life

It's true people really say that ? every year, but for me I really know 2011 will be my year. After all the ? with school and my financial issues this year 2011 is gonna be way better.
