from the "To Catch a Predator Series" on MSNBC....These guys think they are meeting teenage boys and girls from online, in person.

One idiot is a youth pastor at his church. Other idiots bring food, condoms. The IOTN (idiot of the night) even brought his 5 year old son.

Some of these guys get a couple of months in jail, others get years in jail (varies by state).

Other than a swift kick in da ass, what do these guys need? I honestly believe some of them have a compulsion, others I think are just lonely phucks incapable of getting a date. One dude even said, "I'm just a lonely guy".

What the hell do we do with this element of society? Jail isn't the answer. One guy was the son of a County/State Prosecutor and a Police Captain.

Intensive psychological analysis and social segregation. These men, whether they feel a compulsion or not, are willing to take advantage of weak and impressionable children, which is probably the worst of crimes whether it involves sex or not.

Comedy option: Put the guys from Predators RAW on WWE Monday Night RAW in a barb wire steel cage match against five hungry mongooses and a drunken Scottish soccer fan.

I've always said, these men have problems with control and power, I think its less about the sex. (Which is why I always scoff at the pedofile = homosexual argument) I do approve of castration for multiple offenders as well. I also there should also be multiple categories of offenders for those 18 year olds that have sex with a 16 year old girlfriend/boyfriend.

While I don't think these 15 and 16 year old girls are as innocent as say a 9 year old or even a 12 year old, I do think that something has to be mentallly wrong with you if you're as old as their daddy and find them sexually arousing.

One of the guys was a 61 year old man coming to meet a 14 year old boy. When asked by Chris Hansen why the hell he was there, the man went into a rant about all his friends having difficulty dealing with their sexuality and how he just wanted to talk the boy through his..... :niggaplease:

It is a terrible situation to have young children being taken advantage of and the accused should be brought to justice. But I would have to also wonder about mind state of the kids who think it's alright to be "taken advantage of". Nowadays, kids think they are responsible enough to make their own decisions and partake in "adult" ventures and if they find it to be more than they can handle, they got the courts to bail them out. Why don't these kids get some type of punishment for their actions? Most likely, this will continue to be an issue if we continue to, and rightfully so, focus on the "? ol' man".

There are lots of ways I can go with your post, but I need some clarification though:

    1) Is your stance that the victims, in this case kids, need to be punished because they don't know any better?

    2) Who's supposed to punish these kids?

I'm more towards number one however I'm not suggesting the every kid is being this way. Some kids really do have a case where they are exploited. But there are those who think that late-night porno runs and fairy tale love stories makes them ready to be, "grown". They know what they are doing, but they don't know the consequences of what they are doing.

Now punishment for these kids is a little tricky. It's a little damaging to have even kids posted up as sex offenders and such, but something needs to ring clear to these kids that they are not as ready as they think they are...and maybe they need to be let off and let the consequences teach them a lesson...not that I want them to find out from the "? ol' man" however.

Programs like To catch a predator really ? me off. Pedophiles (actually most of them are hebephiles) get convinced by these people to meet up with what they think is a willing girl, only to meet Chris Hansen smiling smugly, and an armed (and sometimes even masked!) arresting unit later. The majority of "predators" that get arrested because of these kinds of actions are not rapists. Many of them wouldn't even have considered going if the girl in the chat hadn't insisted on it.

Why are these people put in the same category as the guy who drags little girls into his van and then rapes them at an abandoned factory? Isn't the difference between the two obvious?

To Catch A Predator jumped the shark when they started doing gimmicky "special" editions of it to milk more money out of it. They like to front like its this holy mission and not entertainment, and for a while that was sorta, kinda believable....but when they started doing ish like "To Catch A Predator: On the Beach" and "To Catch A Predator: Raw & Uncut", you knew it was only a matter of time before they did "To Catch A Predator: Las Vegas" and/or "To Catch A Predator: Celebrity Edition".

Yes, the shameless exploitation of passive aggressive pedophiles is a tragic injustice that......wait, WHAT?!

It wasn't a multiple choice question......

second thought: To Catch a Predator does serve a good purpose though. it shows that the average guy can be f***king your 14 yr old daughter/son. So many people think it's only the man in the dark alley with a michael myers mask.

How are they talking them "into" it. A grown man gets his ass on a computer and CHOOSES to have a sexual conversation with a minor. He CHOOSES to drive his car to that minor's house with the idea that he is going to have SEX with a MINOR. As an ADULT you are supposed to have a much better command of your urges and desires than a teenager or child. Why do you think in most states you cannot get a driver's license until 16?

C'mon Vlad. Many of these dudes got caught repeatedly and they were initiating the contact. Why are you in a chatroom looking for and talking to children? I don't think anyone forced them sign on.

What are the chances that this was the first time they engaged in this behavior? I know these lying ? say they have never done something like this, but come on son.

that is not a fact. The fact is, these people totally initiated it. These dudes know they are doing. If they didnt think anything was wrong with it, then why arent they trying to pick these 12, 14 yr olds up in public places, why are they trying to meet these kids when no adults are home, why when they get caught, instead of defending their behavior, they come up will all kinds of excuses to remove themselves from the situation? I understand you feel its a form of entrapment, however, they totally put themselves in the situation to begin with.
