This is our first text battle tournament in AWHILE!
PRIZE
There will be a trophy made for the winner naming them the first LE Text Battle Tournament Winner. We are trying to add to the prize too. Maybe Hip Hop clothing, IDK. There should be more of that later. Bragging rights as well!
RULES
16 lines mandatory. I will create each battle thread.
There will be due dates. For example, if the threads are created Sunday, battlers have to check in by Wednesday before midnight Eastern time. If both check in, verses are due by Sunday night 11:59:59 PM Eastern time. If only 1 person checks in and the other person doesn't, the person who checked in wins automatically without having to drop a verse. Checking in is as simple as posting "Check." or whatever you like in your battle thread before posting your verse. Posting your verse can be a check in as long as it's done before Wednesday. AND if no one checks in by Wednesday, both battlers are disqualified and the battler they would have faced had they won would get a bye week.
Checking in will let us know each battler acknowledges the battle and acts as a promise they will post a battle verse. If we didn't have check in's, then one of the battlers may waste their time and energy writing a battle verse that will go to waste if their opponent decides to drop out.
In the case that both battlers check in but only one battler post their verse before the verse due time, then the person who missed the due time will be disqualified and the other battler will move onto the next round.
VOTING
If both check in and there is a battle, voting will start as soon as both verses are posted and will go on for six days after they are due in the case that both battlers wait until the last minute to post their verses.
Anybody can vote but votes MUST BE EXPLAINED. Tha Killer and I will determine which votes are legit and which don't count (hate votes, unexplained votes, or users creating aliases to vote for themselves). Must have 50 posts to vote. And IP addresses will be checked in attempt to insure battlers aren't voting for themselves.

So that things are clear, HYPOTHETICALLY, if the battle threads are made by me on Sunday the 16th, battlers have until Wednesday the 19th before midnight to check in, then until the following Sunday the 23rd before midnight to post their verses and voting will be over on Saturday the 29th before midnight. Then the winner will move on and the next rounds battle threads will be created the next day Sunday the 30th. All times are Eastern. It will look something like this:
Sunday 16th: Threads are made.
Wednesday 19th (before midnight): Check in.
Sunday 23rd (before midnight): Verses due.
Saturday 29th (before midnight): Voting closes.
Sunday 30th (before midnight): Next round begins.
I will be hosting the tournament possibly along with moderation help from Tha Killer.

In the past when I was MOD with OliverLang49 back in the day, we'd ask for emails BC people would check their emails everyday so we thought that'd be a better way to signup so we'd alert them the tournament is starting. But yes, if you'd like to sign up, just say so and I'll hit people via the IC inbox as well. And yes, just 1 rounders. I'll make the battle threads, then both battlers check in then drop verses and people vote. Winner of that round moves on until we find a champion. The whole process should take a few weeks but we'll schedule it so verses will be due before the weekend is over BC I realize some people are in high school or college. -

Lol. I'm okay with anyone entering as long as there is no reason to suspect it's another battler entering twice under another alias to improve their chances. If you don't think you can make the due dates, you're welcome to vote as long as you have 50 posts. That just makes it harder for people to create another account and post 50 times then vote for themselves. That'll be lunatic. I,myself, won't enter this time around but I will next tournament and I will make certain I vote on every battle. -

Here we go. Sign-ups are complete. If you're interested in entering, there will be a new tournament a few weeks or so after this one is done. Thanks for peeping. You can always vote on this one. Keep track! And keep a look out for the battle threads coming soon.
